Tested positive Saturday 29th Jan so today is day 5, still positive. Not overly strong line but not a faint one either.

DS had it, his lines were very red and he had to stay in for the whole 10 days. However all the other kids in his class who had Covid around the same time, around 8 of them, all had 2 negative LFTs between days 5-7.

Having serious cabin fever after been stuck inside with DS and now me!

Everyone is different, most I know have ended up doing the full 10 day isolation.

RedToothBrush · 03/02/2022 14:39

I have friends who seem to be having the opposite trouble!

Household member positive. They have symptoms, developed at almost the same time. Multiple neg ltfs and pcr. Cant test positive. Extremely worried they will pass it on or will be accused of lying.

Not just one, but two of them this week!

One works in a hospital and has taken a day leave as she's convinced its omicron but just cant test positive!

DistrictCommissioner · 03/02/2022 14:49

Same timing as me. Also positive today.

Really on edge about it as got DC’s 2nd vaccine appt on Sat, that I really need them to have as we have travel plans in half term, but as far as I can tell they need an adult with them & I might not be able to get out to take them. Argh!

ToastandJamandTea · 03/02/2022 15:09

I am day 9 today and it has only faded a tiny bit.

Onlyahalfbottle · 03/02/2022 15:10

Day 7 today and got my first negative, really hoping I get my second tomorrow but I know a few people who've had a positive the next day.

Msgiggles30 · 03/02/2022 15:51

I'm day 5 too! Still positive, fainter but 100% there. I think day 5 is just a tease and not achievable really. The false hope is worse! Most freinds and family were day 8 at the earliest x

zafferana · 03/02/2022 15:53

I tested negative on Day 8, DS on Day 7.

He'd been asymptomatic and I'm fully vaxxed and had mild symptoms.

WhenZoomWasJustAnIceLolly · 03/02/2022 15:55

Dd negative on day 4!

flummingbird · 03/02/2022 15:56

I'm on day 10 and was in for 2 days with DD before that too, am stir crazy, however finally got a negative this afternoon so feel better about resuming life again tomorrow. DD was OK to leave on day 7 after 2 negatives.

I have some hope now that I may get a negative at the weekend!

I am meant to be back at work Monday so I hope so!!

DD and I both got a negative on day 4 - must have been a mild bout I guess.

So have we! I think it's just random as well as possibly the quality of the swab taking which may be why they want 2.

Day 5, my daughter is negative, I still have a faint positive

CaveMum · 03/02/2022 17:50

DH got his negatives Day 6 and Day 7. DS got his Day 9 & 10. I’m currently Day 4 so will test tomorrow but fully expect it to still be positive as I’m still sneezing all over the place, though thankfully the brain fog and fatigue has lifted today.

Gassylady · 03/02/2022 17:53

Another one day 5 here still positive hoping I can get two negatives to allow return to work next week - we are really short at the moment and I want to get out of the house!

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 03/02/2022 17:57

Got it at the same time as DP, he had the last two days negative and I'm still positive on day 8. Grumpy.

rambleonplease · 04/02/2022 08:47

Day 6. I've had a negative LFT but I don't trust it. I don't think my swab was very thorough! Will see tomorrow.

Day 6 six since symptoms started, day 5 since positive test. A very faint positive line here which quickly vanished. So strange. Like the previous posters said I’m not sure I trust it so will try again tomorrow.

CaveMum · 04/02/2022 12:07

Day 5 here and as suspected there's still a line, a very dark line!

Msgiggles30 · 04/02/2022 14:20

Day 6 and now a blazing postive again. Was very faint yesterday so thought today might be the same or better but nope worse Hmm

rambleonplease · 05/02/2022 08:05

Day 7 and another negative! Freedom day I here!

OP posts:
Cheesechips · 05/02/2022 08:06

Mine was negative on days 5 and 6. Actually almost negative on day 4. I was really surprised. My husband now has Covid and it looks similar. Perhaps we had a very mild strain? Not sure if it works like that though!

rambleonplease · 05/02/2022 08:44

@Cheesechips people can have a lower viral load. My sons was redder than red! But at 9 he's not vaccinated. So that might explain why mine was so much lighter than his.
