Are people still being pinged?

Or is that a thing of the past? Haven't heard of it lately so was just curious. And if you are, does it tell you to get a lft now or still a pcr?

Everyone I know deleted the app.

My DH got pinged last night through the app. It told him to get a pcr (which he did this morning).

I was a couple of weeks ago. Through my next door neighbours ' wall seemingly. I took a lateral flow test which was negative but I hadn't even been out on the date I was allegedly in close contact.

Me and DH currently have Covid. We only did LFT as per the current guidelines and I got pinged after his test even though I already had it!

I was pinged on 6 Jan. No isolation required, just LFTs.

I never had the app. Had a positive PCR Covid test and then started getting messages/calls checking I was isolating

Thanks. That's a good point, a lot of people have deleted the app. Interesting to hear it's still going. I can't get hold of lfts must try again.

I think barely anyone has the app now. I still do and have been to theatre and cinema a number of times since September, and never been pinged!

I still have the app, just out of interest really, but I've not been pinged for months. September was the last (and only) time. And I go on public transport, kids parties, work with people, been in restaurants etc.

I got pinged twice over xmas on days I hadn't been out anywhere! ironically my workplace has currently got five cases and i haven't been pinged at all.

I didn't need to do anything except LFT as jabbed.

FIL was pinged by app just after Christmas, he developed symptoms a couple of days later so it must have been where he got it (coffee shop) so it worked for him - he wasn't able to get LFTs at the time so isolated until symptoms started when he got a PCR to confirm, he wouldn't have known to isolate without the app so probably helped reduce spread.

I deleted it and assume most other people have to. I go out to restaurants/cafes etc a lot and nowhere still asks you to "sign in"

Scotland still asks us to "sign in". I generally don't bother. Never had the app.

DH was in late November. He’d been on a train that day. No idea why he still had the pinger enabled!

But it’s less of an issue if no need to isolate, hence you don’t hear about it.

I've still got the app, out of curiosity more than anything else - not been pinged since the isolation rules changed. As I wouldn't have to isolate having the app on is no going to cause me any inconvenience, if I got pinged I would probably do some extra LFTs, I already do 2 a week as I'm a teacher (although there are so many positives at school I probably am already a close contact of many cases just not informed of it!)

The signing in thing seems to have become obsolete now tho. No one asks. No one checks

DH was pinged recently, the contact was supposed to have taken place on a day he didn't leave the house so we're assuming it came from the neighbours. It then turns out that DD(17) was pinged for the same day, assumed it happened in school but none of her contacts there were either positive nor pinged. So probably also at home through the wall. My app is off. But it means very little as you don't have to isolate if fully vaccinated.
