Anyone else isolating and feeling grumpy?

I am feeling so grumpy today. It is day 3 for me. But I have been stuck at home days before that because two of my kids got covid first. It is the worst to be sick when you have kids. They have no idea of giving you a break....argh. They whine and whinge they are bored. They are SO annoying. I just want to recover from covid and be able to relax while doing so! My kids had no symptoms and have been full of energy the whole time. I had fever, aches, headache, sore throat and a small cough. It has not been too bad when I take paracetemal. But I am also more fatigued. And I have to help homeschool them, plus just deal with all their daily needs. I am just fed up with isolating them. They have both been negative for two days but need to isolate until Thursday. I am fed up with this shitty weather. ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sunshine....spring....where are you??

Anyone else feel the same? What day are you on? What are you doing to cheer up? I am watching the hobbit (only 10-15 mins at a time because that is all I can manage with the kids around or me having to do something else.). But I do enjoy that movie :)

Day 1 here, I tested positive this morning, was negative yesterday afternoon! I then tested all of the kids, youngest (4) is positive too. He doesn’t have symptoms really other than his mouth being sore and he keeps smelling a funny smell?!

Serenschintte · 12/01/2022 15:09

DH had symptoms now so he had booked in for a PCR tomorrow.
Im wondering if that means the clock restarts for DC2. Maybe I’ll ring and find out.

Very annoying about your shopping @StoopitAutocarrot
Today I feel normal so have been doind lots of housework incase I do get ill. Luckily dc are teens and quite self sufficient when they need to be.

Aria999 · 12/01/2022 15:16

We all have it, I think. Dd (23mos) got sick first on Friday evening. DS (6) on Monday evening, he is the worst and the only one who has actually had a test so far. DH and I both have mild cold symptoms so it's likely we all have it. I will do a rapid test later if I can be bothered.

I have taken today off work (I am freelance so don't feel too guilty). DS is having an iPad binge in bed and dd and I are chain watching paw patrol on the tv.

It's going to be a long week but if it doesn't get worse it will be ok.

albertsquirrelnuts · 12/01/2022 15:19

@Idontbelieveit14 your actually on day 0 of you are only positive today, sorry!
I'm on day 8, DH who gave it to me is free so I'm at home alone with the 3 year old. It's been a very long week. Still strong LFT positive so no chance of being released earlier either.

Oh bugger 😩

Just ate a freshly baked chocolate croissant and man it was good! Founds frozen pret ones in the freezer so put them in the oven.

@LadyPenelope68 sorry you lost your taste, I hope you get it back asap. HOW annoying.

I was exhausted and took a two hour nap, woke with a slight headache....let me kids watch 3 hours of tv....but that is the only way I can rest. I am letting them have their croissant in front of the tv and then I said tv goes off for a few more hours until this evening. Normally I do not do this, but I have no energy to deal with them ALL DAY LONG! My youngest had a 2.5 hour nap during the time, so it was ideal time for me to rest.

I still feel grumpy.....just want to be healthy again!

I’m on day 1 and fed up already. Got positive lft first thing yesterday after waking with a sore throat and headache. Managing ok on lemsip, but can tell when it wears off as my back hurts.

Luckily DH has locked me away and delivering room service as he is keen to avoid catching it. Means I’m not getting involved in the day to day stuff downstairs. Bit dull though!

LadyPenelope68 · 12/01/2022 15:46

@albertsquirrelnuts
@Idontbelieveit14

It’s changed, day 1 is now the first day of your symptoms, not day 1 being the day after your symptoms started as it was before. My Headteacher checked with Public Health and they sent this link to the guidance.

Anyone else isolating and feeling grumpy?
LadyPenelope68 · 12/01/2022 15:51

Actually, reading the link (I couldn’t be bothered when it was sent to me earlier), it makes no sense. Using the example they give, day one is still the day after symptoms started. Unless my COVID fogged brain is just not understanding it.

sheeplikessleep · 12/01/2022 16:15

I think that reads first day of symptoms is day 0.

sheeplikessleep · 12/01/2022 16:16

Says it includes the day symptoms start and the next 10 days (unless you get negative lfts on day 6 and 7).

albertsquirrelnuts · 12/01/2022 16:18

I actually re checked after I posted and I'm still confused. I'm pretty sure day 0 is first symptoms or test, isolation for 10 days and you are free at 23.59 on day 10.... possibly, I think 🤷

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 12/01/2022 19:33

Today the fatigue has really hit me. I've been asleep for most of it. Tomorrow DH is working from home and the kids will be bouncing off the walls. I'm glad they're better but I just want peace. 6 days left 🙄

StoopitAutocarrot · 13/01/2022 20:25

Constipated this morning, which is really unlike me! Not sure if it’s a symptom or the DH ready meal diet.

Mamabear12 · 13/01/2022 20:53

Today I also felt really fatigued. Woke up feeling great, by 11am was exhausted and feeling poorly again.....Fed up

CovidCorvid · 13/01/2022 21:01

My symptoms of burning nose , headache, etc have gone. I’m just wiped out.

Mamabear12 · 14/01/2022 10:52

How is everyone feeling today? I still have a headache (the pain meds dont seem to help with this). I am only needing to take pills twice a day at least instead of 4 times when I first fell ill. I am wiped out as well....no energy.

You’re right x

So I’m day 2 today. Feeling really bloody fed up already. Really blocked nose, dry mouth, cough, headache. 4 year old still full of beans no symptoms other than a funny smell when he eats.

IsaLating · 15/01/2022 07:15

Day 6. Still positive. I have a couple of dance classes I was due to teach next week, I need to think about arranging a sub. My day 10 is Wednesday I reckon.

LadyPenelope68 · 15/01/2022 08:10

@IsaLating I’m day 6 today as well and still positive. Infact whole house on day 6 and still positive. Yes, Wednesday at 23:59 is end if your isolation - freedom on Thursday! 🤣

LadyPenelope68 · 15/01/2022 08:13

Morning everyone. Hope we’re all doing okay.
Day 6 here - Awful nights sleep here and woke with the headache even worse than ever (didn’t think it was possibly to get worse). Feeling sick with the pain. Cough has lessened a bit though. Was hoping to try and do a few huts round the house today, but if this headache doesn’t ease, I won’t be moving from bed.

IsaLating · 15/01/2022 08:18

Our CEV stepson will be with us this weekend so I really am confined to barracks. But our older dog is keeping me company. Dh has a shopping list of essentials to get, I need to improve what I’m eating.

IsaLating · 15/01/2022 08:19

Dh still testing negative.

sheeplikessleep · 15/01/2022 11:41

Day 4 here and first day I’ve not woken up desperate for Lemsip. I’m trying to make a conscious decision to eat more vegetables and fruit, but some things taste so bitter that it’s affecting what I eat. I’d read taste changes weren’t as commonly reported with Omicron 😞

LadyPenelope68 · 15/01/2022 12:52

@sheeplikessleep
I’m assuming we’ve all Omicron as it’s rife in the school I teach at and all in the household came down with it together, on the same day. I’ve totally lost sense of taste and smell, but DH and both DS’s haven’t.
