Lower back pain??

BuddlesOfMine · 31/12/2021 18:17

I’ve just started a thread in chat thinking I have a bug, only to be told back pain is a sign of omicron! Have any of you had lower back pain? DS had covid last week (out of isolation today on day 8 following negative LFTs), and all my tests each day including my PCR have been negative. Just wondering if this could still be it?

Yes, I’m just recovering from covid and have had severe lower back pain combined with nausea.

inheritancetrack · 31/12/2021 18:24

Lower back pain was identified in s Africa as being another symptom of omicron.

Soffit · 01/01/2022 16:27

I've had this too and I am now thinking it was Omicron as I live in a hotspot and have been travelling around freely on the buses/Tube. Could I ask whether your back pain has completely gone away and if so, how long it took? I am desperately trying to work out whether the early morning stiffness in the lower spine is a separate issue like newly developed arthritis or whether it is likely to get better in time. I am usually 100% fine after a warm cup of tea. First osteopath appointment is in a few weeks time (they never had anything earlier) . Thanks

Norugratsatall · 01/01/2022 17:15

Yes I've had back pain and hip pain along with other classic Covid symptoms recently. We have a covid positive person in the house so seemed likely, however, all my LFTs and a PCR all negative!

greenweepingwillow · 01/01/2022 17:19

Yes, me. Back pain, hip pain and nausea were my worst symptoms tbh. Positive pcr on Christmas day.

bingandflop · 01/01/2022 18:20

I have covid, most likely omicron, and back pain and tiredness/lethargy are my only symptoms

pleasestoprainingplease · 01/01/2022 18:36

Yes! This started for me two nights ago. Thought I'd hurt my back trampolining! But the next morning my whole body hurt. Definitely could be covid.

Yebbie · 01/01/2022 18:38

I've currently got covid but I'm also pregnant and I've had hip and back pain the last two days and have been worried it was the start of a miscarriage so you have no idea how bloody happy I am to read this.

itsgettingweird · 01/01/2022 18:42

I've had no symptoms of a cold or anything.

But have had fatigue, back and hip pain and felt Nauseous but the hungry type.

I did LFT which were negative.

Woke up feeling fine today but read a thread yesterday that this was symptoms of omicron.

I didn't have PCR because didn't even think it could be covid and LFT negative. (I test with any under the weather feeling and everyone I know who has had covid has always had positive LFT).

itsgettingweird · 01/01/2022 18:43

Oh and I've also had a low level headache for days that didn't really resolve fully with painkillers.

Soffit · 01/01/2022 19:18

I just had a telephone call with 'the most prominent spine doctor in the world'. He insists that there is no such thing as covid back pain Confused
However, there is quite a lot of evidence to the contrary online.
I'm frustrated because I want to do killer workouts right now but I'm too afraid to test it out for fear of landing back there!

YogaLite · 01/01/2022 20:26

Interesting, it's good to know!
I have had a lower back for a few days now but no LFTs left, no other symptoms. I better step up looking for LFTs...

Waftypants · 01/01/2022 20:28

Yes, definitely a symptom.

ivykaty44 · 01/01/2022 22:35

my dd2 has had back pain since xmas eve, testing anyhow and all negative until Tuesday lft was positive, Thursday pcr test and Friday results were positive

she is in a lot of pain with her lower back and pressure on her bladder when she pees - not sure if its all linked and why the back pain 5 days before positive lft

Cantthinkofausername2022 · 01/01/2022 23:27

I have lower back pain but it’s more around the flank areas on my lower back not bone pain

Madhatterrrrr · 01/01/2022 23:48

Currently positive and my first signs were lower back pain and pain in my neck. My LFT was still negative on the day those symptoms started, but positive the day after that and has since been confirmed on a PCR.

HoldenCaulfieldismyhomeboy · 01/01/2022 23:56

Absolutely. I had covid back in July 2021 and one of my worst and earliest symptoms was back pain. Like in the ribcage area. It was Absolutely awful. This week I've started feeling a bit under the weather, so booked a test, next day I felt fine, today Absolutely awful back pain again. Still testing negative on LFs but last time round I never once got a positive on a LF Hmm got test booked tomorrow. I'll be shocked if it's not covid as the muscles aches are identical to last time. Hope you're well soon.Flowers

HoldenCaulfieldismyhomeboy · 02/01/2022 00:00

Also, pain in lower back flanks area. Neck pain too.

Dontsayyouloveme · 02/01/2022 00:03

Weird. I had lower back pain after each of my three covid vaccines. Only lasted for 24 hours and put it down to my kidneys filtering the vaccine..

Namechange600 · 02/01/2022 00:08

I had lower back pain (felt like kidneys to me, I tent to be aware of these things as have multiple chronic health conditions) and chills a day before I started with a runny nose and night sweats the next day. Two days later had a positive LFD…

Ihearthosesleighbellsringing · 02/01/2022 00:21

Yep, lower back pain for me was a symptom.
I had headaches at the start, back pain and fatigue.
Nothing that resembled a cold or flu virus.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 02/01/2022 00:22

So. Much. Back. Pain.
Agree with hip pain also. The joint pain yesterday was the worst part of it, I couldn’t sleep, lay down, sit down. There was no relief except a really hot bath, which was also uncomfortable with a high temperature.
Today is so much better!

QueenFool · 02/01/2022 00:23

I also got back flank pain under my ribs with Covid. I thought it might be kidney related. Also a burning hip pain.
No respiratory symptoms at all.

I've heard others say back pain was a symptom too. It's such a strange virus.

Sowhatifiam · 02/01/2022 01:38

My son had back pain and dizziness as his only symptoms back in the delta days.

anothernamechange224466 · 02/01/2022 02:56

I had lower back pain and pain in my right hip for a couple of days. It's gone now.
