Me, DH and all the kids between 1 and 21 had positive lfts on boxing day, I had mild achey elbows and wrists which was solved with 1 paracetamol, kids were all fine, I had 1 jab at the beginning of summer dont know if that helped much :)

Very mild here. Barely a cough, it's one of the mildest coughs I've ever had. I'm asthmatic, DC suffers horrendously with hacking coughs and croup, barely a cough from him. Seems to be lasting around 3 days.

This has to be the beginning of the end....doesn't it....? 🙏🙏

LadyCleathStuart · 31/12/2021 18:58

My brother had it, he isn't even vaccinated and only had a sniffle.

Everyone I know & that’s about 30 people over Christmas. My family are London/Surrey & my colleagues central London. All very mild & all said they’d have been out & about as normal if they hadn’t known it was covid.. a few had a couple days of feeling a bit rough and just wanting to rest up.

Has anyone had a 'covid cough' with omicron? I haven't and not heard anyone who has...yet it's still one of major listed symptoms I believe 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cantthinkofausername2022 · 31/12/2021 20:18

I have a cough for the past 2 days but it’s easing now thankfully
It wasn’t a hacking cough but tickly dry cough. At one stage I was coughing nearly every 2mins with it for a period of about 5 hours which scared me a bit as I only just would start breathing normal and it would start again.

Most people won't know which variant they have as most people aren't told. Only some labs do the sequencing to identify the variant.
Chances are people will have omicron at present as it's the one most in circulation, but afaik delta is still around, not sure about the others.

I know 3 people who have tested positive in the last 2 weeks.

1 - triple jabbed male in 40s, - had what felt like a heavy cold for a few days then fine, appears to have no ongoing issues; discovered due to feeling rough and also does twice weekly testing for work

2 - double jabbed (booster due in jan) female, 20y - no real symptoms, discovered through testing due to seeing vulnerable family

3 - triple jabbed female, early 40s - sore throat, thought she had tonsillitis; discovered via daily testing as close contact with positive case, LFT was positive 3/4 days after 'tonsillitis type symptoms' started

None have been very unwell in the sense they've been able to manage at home without doctor intervention. So all classed as mild.

Children under 12 (unvaxxed) had a cough for a couple of days, needed calpol a couple of times over 24 hours, then fine.

Adult in 40s, double jabbed, cough, felt fluey for a couple of days

Adult in 40s, triple jabbed, CEV, headaches & no energy (2 weeks & counting).

hellsbells99 · 31/12/2021 22:02

DD (in her 20s) had nausea and dizziness for a couple of days whilst testing negative. Then tested positive (a couple of weeks ago) and felt ok apart from tiredness and a headache. I did hear her coughing during the night but she is asthmatic anyway. Recovered fine and tested negatively quickly on a lateral flow. Has had 2 AZ vaccines more than 6 months ago - wasn’t able to book booster due to age (was booked in for day after she tested positive).
DH has sniffle and scratchy throat - fully vaxed.

shivermetimbers77 · 31/12/2021 22:09

I tested positive on Christmas morning- I was feeling pretty congested for a couple of days, then that passed and now I have developed an annoying cough and have totally lost my sense of smell, but feeling fine other than that. Still testing positive though so can’t go out tomorrow as I had hoped.

isitnewyearyet · 01/01/2022 23:32

Nasal congestion for three says, woolly headed feeling for one day, sneezing and on and off runny nose. Sleeping more

Dottydozet · 02/01/2022 00:26

Everyone I know has had it mildly, including my severely immunosuppressed parent.

CallMeNutribullet · 02/01/2022 01:10

I know 2 people who were completely asymptomatic and someone else who said they didn't feel great but has had worse colds.

foxgoosefinch · 02/01/2022 01:20

Yes. Milder than a cold but more persistent, even though I tested negative again on days 6 and 7. Still feel tired, a bit headachy, and can’t seem to tolerate even a small glass of wine without feeling unwell. But it was nothing like I’ve heard people describe Delta.

Delatron · 02/01/2022 08:12

I had no symptoms other than muscle aches for one day and then on and off fatigue for about a week. But didn’t need to be in bed. Just sat on the sofa more than I normally do and was lacking in energy.

Main symptoms amongst friends who had it at the same time was sore throat. DH was tired and did develop a cough.

My DM now has it and she has a cough and is a bit wiped out but that’s it. She’s 70.

HerbertChops · 02/01/2022 09:09

DS1 had covid during December, we live in London so possibly was omicron, he was asymptomatic. None of the rest of us caught it (DS2 had covid end of October, DH and I double vaccinated).
