Day 6 and 7 Negative anyone?

So it's been a week since the new rules came in and just wondering who has tested negative day 6 and 7 and been allowed out early.

Day 5 here so hoping to hear some success stories! Meant to be working New Year's Day.

Tested positive Friday (day I showed symptoms) so far very mild.

My BIL tested positive on Xmas Eve, negative today (Day 6) so fingers crossed for tomorrow! He had two days feeling really rough, feverish and coughing, but has been ok since. He isolated on one room and his wife hasn't caught it.

Unfortunately today is only day 5 as the day that your BIL tested positive is counted as day 0 so tomorrow is day 6 and Friday is day 7 for him to test.
Day 6 and 7 Negative anyone?
BeLessMe · 29/12/2021 14:57

I only know of one person who tested negative day 8.

The other wasn’t negative until day 11!

Given the amount of LFT photos people post on here, where half the people commenting can’t even see the red line, it’s quite alarming to think of all the positive people who will be wandering around freely on their day 8.

BeLessMe · 29/12/2021 14:58

Or day 6 even given the pp confusion Confused

TulipsGarden · 29/12/2021 15:16

@Mykittensaremyfriends Ah... thank you! He had symptoms the day before but was negative, so maybe he's counting it from then? But I will check with him.

Mykittensaremyfriends · 29/12/2021 15:19

@TulipsGarden you're welcome

maffhew · 29/12/2021 15:26

It's not being made clear that the first day is day 0 so I think a lot of people will make the same mistake and leave isolation a day early.

I'm on day 5 (tested + Xmas eve) and still a strong + on lateral flow so I'm not holding out much hope for an early exit!

Pushing30 · 29/12/2021 15:48

I tested negative days 6 and 7

SergeiL · 29/12/2021 16:17

I did but haven’t rushed out anywhere. I don’t feel fully recovered to be honest. I am going to head out for a walk but that’s it.

Today is your BIL’s day 5, not day 6 @TulipsGarden

Just here to wave to all the fellow day 5-ers.

I haven't done an lft since my PCR, so there's a bit of excitement to look forward to tomorrow.

My symptoms (headache, sort throat, runny nose) have all gone now, they peaked on Christmas day and boxing day.

Teachocsbook · 29/12/2021 18:05

My son aged 16 is a day 5 er . He was itching to know what might happen new years eve and tested tonight. His is showing negative. However day 6 and 7 are the ones we will be following . He is still quite rough (cough and sore throat and his sense of smell only went yesterday afternoon- day 4 ) if he's negative on days 6 and 7 but still showing symptoms does he still have to complete the 10 days or not ??

Wannabegreenfingers · 29/12/2021 18:11

My daughter did, she has been asymptomatic throughout

Testing positive on Christmas Day means that today is day 4, not 5.
SockFluffInTheBath · 29/12/2021 18:19

DS was negative on days 6 and 7 but didn’t test positive until day 4 of symptoms.

elotrolado · 29/12/2021 18:27

DS tested negative day 6 and 7, he was mostly asymptomatic throughout

Tifalockhart · 29/12/2021 18:30

I tested negative day 6 and 7-no way I felt well enough to leave the house though.

User2638483 · 29/12/2021 18:32

One dc was ok, one needed an extra day 👍

Teachocsbook · 29/12/2021 18:33

His symptoms started Christmas eve

Howshouldibehave · 29/12/2021 18:33

Nope-still testing positive on day 9 here. And feeling rubbish.

greenweepingwillow · 29/12/2021 18:38

im on day 5 tody. still very strong positive (tested my mistake as miscounted and thought it was day 6!) Still feel quite rough too.
Ill be very surprised if I am negative tomorrow.
I'm slightly stressed as to when I will get a negative as I can't go back into work until I have two consecutive negative reuslts (NHS)

GoldenFondue · 29/12/2021 18:42

I had it very mild, 3 days of what felt like a sinus infection. I had no cough or fever, just sore sinuses and a headache and slightly nauseous. By day 4 I felt fine but I was still testing positive until day 10! Day 11 was my first negative.

Hedonism · 30/12/2021 08:30

Day 6 today and feeling fine but still testing positive Sad

Still, there are worse COVID situations to be in!

Wotrewelookinat · 30/12/2021 10:26

Came on to post the same question, so thanks for the thread OP. DD is desperate to be out of isolation and see her friends on NY day, which will be day 8 so 🤞🤞🤞. She has only had mild symptoms and is fully recovered now.

Eyerollsausageroll · 30/12/2021 10:34

I didn't test negative until day 11. Ds8 still showing positive day 6 and dd7 pcr positive yesterday. Thank god for disney plus!
