I will put my neck on line and say that covid will be over by 27th of March 2022.

OP posts:
NuffSaidSam · 26/12/2021 18:59

I'd take that bet.

I think no way is it over completely by March.

Mogloveseggs · 26/12/2021 19:00

Hope so seeing as my covid passport runs out the week before!

knobblykneesandturnedouttoes · 26/12/2021 19:14

Why will it be over?

milly74 · 26/12/2021 19:51

it will never be over as it is a controlling mechanism - our rights, civil liberties and freedoms can be snatched away using covid laws and to "protect the NHS" ad infinitum

backonceagain2 · 26/12/2021 21:21

I hope you're tight 🤞🏼

Alysskea · 26/12/2021 21:25

@Mogloveseggs the expiry means you've just got to go back on the app

vodkaredbullgirl · 26/12/2021 21:26

Can I borrow your crystal ball please.

Fallagain · 26/12/2021 21:27

How is that going to happen? Is earth going to be destroyed.

Aposterhasnoname · 26/12/2021 21:27

Whilst I agree that this is the end game, that’s a weirdly specific date. Why the 27th exactly?
frasersmummy · 26/12/2021 21:28

Well the original covid legislation expires then..but apparently Scotland has already extended ours to Sept.. sigh

thedefinitionofmadness · 26/12/2021 21:28

well pandemics usually run their course in 2 years so yeah

it will still be a new disease that exists in the world etc and that we have to manage to live with - but the crisis (the disease itself, not the social political and economic fallout) will likely be through.

LordoftheDanceSaidHe · 26/12/2021 21:29

Don't be ridiculous!

SpindleSpangle · 26/12/2021 21:29

That's the Best Before date on my Spam.

KurtWildesChristmasNamechange · 26/12/2021 21:29

No doubt this date because it's been reported that all restrictions will end on March 28th. So clearly covid will end on the 27th.

3luckystars · 26/12/2021 21:30

I’m going today the 16th March.

Luredbyapomegranate · 26/12/2021 21:31

You mean most of the drama will be over?

Or do you think the overlords are recalling it to the lab? Grin

MaryAndHerNet · 26/12/2021 21:32

Covid won't ever be ever, it'll just become accepted, like Flu, common cold, anal leakage etc.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 26/12/2021 21:32

@milly74

it will never be over as it is a controlling mechanism - our rights, civil liberties and freedoms can be snatched away using covid laws and to "protect the NHS" ad infinitum
Hope you've got something else lined up to froth over when it does end...
picklemewalnuts · 26/12/2021 21:39

I broadly agree, but I'd actually say by next winter. I think we'll go into next winter knowing that Covid is around, people will get it, no one will isolate or test anymore unless they have vulnerable family members. Oh, and we'll need annual boosters.

We've got this one last winter to get through, imo.

deadlanguage · 26/12/2021 21:42

It’s endemic. It will never be gone, we will just learn to manage it. Like flu, colds, chickenpox etc.

Thickasmincepie · 26/12/2021 21:50

Loving the idea of the covid germs all heeding the call and scuttling back to their 'overlords' luredbyapomegranate.

LyndaSnellsSniff · 26/12/2021 21:53

I agree in the context that by late Spring people with Covid will no longer have to isolate IF they have been triple jabbed. Restrictions will apply to the unvaccinated only. This way we will achieve herd immunity, which is what the govt have been gunning for all along.

Postdatedpandemic · 26/12/2021 21:55

Eeeh, Feck, is that when the asteroid hits?

mulledwineshine · 26/12/2021 21:58

Yeah the said it would take two years.

wonderstuff · 26/12/2021 21:58

Is that globally or just in the UK? I’ve got holiday booked for April so it would be super convenient if it would be over everywhere by then.
