Anti-testers

WtfHuh1122 · 23/12/2021 11:56

Has anyone come across these? I have a colleague who her and her family refuse to get the vaccine, ok I don't agree but you do you. But they refuse to have any part in the pandemic at all, and have never taken any covid test, never have and never will as she says.

So the problem with this is she came into work the other day saying her husband is not feeling great and spent the whole of the day before in bed. But obviously they don't have a clue whether it's covid or not because no one will test.

It's just so frustrating. Especially around Christmas. I have another colleague who is more vulnerable to covid and she was saying how stressed this particular colleague is making her, but obviously no one can force anyone to get vaccinated or take tests.

Has anyone else come across these anti-testers?

Yep. I know a couple who are refusing the vaccines and refuse to test.
They're also very anti government and constantly post things on Facebook about how we're being controlled.
They work in an industry that that been particularly badly hit by the pandemic and restrictions so I get why they're frustrated but you'd think they'd welcome the vaccines as a way out of this 🤷🏼‍♀️

WtfHuh1122 · 23/12/2021 12:03

Yes it's the same narrative from the lady I know! She goes on about how this is all government tactics for them to control us all.

OP posts:
SpinsForGin · 23/12/2021 12:08

They can't ever explain why we're being controlled though ......

McFarts · 23/12/2021 12:09

Yes sadly i do! i find it incredibly selfish, no fucks given for those more vulnerable, just sticking to their own believes, and by doing so are forcing others to put themselves at grater risk.

Theyre also anti lockdown, anti mask and anti vaccine, basically anti bloody everything.

McFarts · 23/12/2021 12:10

Yup totally controlled whilst basically doing whatever the frig they want!
JuergenSchwarzwald · 23/12/2021 12:23

I've never done a test either other than once to see how they work. However I've worn a face covering indoors since March 2020 and never stopped and am triple vaccinated. So bog off with your judgeyness. I bet all those posting on the other thread about the selfishness of getting on a train with covid stopped wearing a mask in the summer just because they could, rather than using common sense.

Completely untrue. I have a friend who is unvaccinated (about the only person I know who isn't vaccinated) but he does test, wear a mask and keeps out of indoor spaces as far as possible.

Of course you have the covid-deniers but that is a different thing.

Parker231 · 23/12/2021 12:25

I’ve come to the conclusion that those not vaccinated or testing regularly are idiots - 100% selfish!

Are you anti-testing or just haven't needed to? Would you test if you had symptoms or just carry on meeting people? I would find it hard to meet up with people who have symptoms but don't test, vaccinated or not.

This just doesn't hit like you want it to anymore.

"Do what I think you should do or your selfish".

Yawnsville.

Covidworries · 23/12/2021 12:31

Theres quite alot of people not testing as they believe that if you dont test then covid will go away Confused, they believe the covid priblems are caused by people testing.

Whitefire · 23/12/2021 12:33

My husband has never done a test, no need. No symptoms, he doesn't work and hasn't been anywhere that requires one. Doesn't make him an anti-tester though.

BigBenji · 23/12/2021 12:37

That isn't the same then is it?

Unfortunately I know an anti vaxxer who won't test even to meet up with family 🙄. Believes them to be carcinogenic... but happily smokes! 🤦‍♀️

Whitefire · 23/12/2021 12:40

A poster has already put that a non tester is a selfish idiot.

Blubells · 23/12/2021 12:44

I don't think it's not about being vaccinated or not.

It's to do with the mild symptoms and the cost of missing 7 days of work or school.

I fear a lot of people won't test if they only have very mild symptoms and can't afford to miss work or school for 7 days.

And of course everyone who's asymptomatic won't necessarily test.

Emmelina · 23/12/2021 12:46

I’ve read plenty of comments saying they won’t test because it might ruin their Christmas plans (I’d rather test and know, then stay away, than take it with me and pass it on!)
I’ve also read people straight up saying people need to stop testing because it will all just go away 🤔

Blubells · 23/12/2021 12:47

I know someone unvaccinated and they test religiously before going out. They wear a mask too.

So no, it's nothing to do with being vaxxed or not.

If anything vaxxed people sometimes have a false sense of security and don't feel the need to test themselves? They might not care about others as they feel 'safe'?

Blubells · 23/12/2021 12:49

In other words anti-testing is not equal to anti-vaxxing.

They're two separate issues imo.

McFarts · 23/12/2021 12:59

@JuergenSchwarzwald

It sounds like your friend is being sensible! but im sorry to say everything i posted about MY friend is entirely true.

That isn't the same as the person described in the OP., they are not vaccinated.

@Blubells

This thread isnt about anti vaxxers, its about people refusing to test when they have symptoms.

XenoBitch · 23/12/2021 13:21

Oh joy, another term to 'other' people with.

Squleamish · 23/12/2021 13:37

All sorts of people around - people who don't test, people who test more than once a day, vaxxed, partially vaxxed, unvaxxed... in all sorts of combinations.

Personally, the people I know who are not vaccinated are very sensible with other precautions, and not selfish in the slightest. Definitely stay away from others if have any symptoms, test if needed, etc.

WtfHuh1122 · 23/12/2021 14:18

I'm not frustrated at people to haven't needed to test. I'm talking about people who have symptoms but refuse to test because they don't agree with the pandemic at all or think it's all a massive conspiracy.

I'm not even frustrated at those that won't get vaccinated. I see the argument that you shouldn't get stuff injected into you if you don't consent, although I'm fully vax and this all would be easier if everyone would get vaccinated but it is what it is. If you're not vaccinated though I would have hoped you'd test if you have symptoms but there's some people out there that won't even do this. Anti-testers, Covid deniers

OP posts:
Waxonwaxoff0 · 23/12/2021 14:21

There's one of these at my work. She's anti vaccine, thinks they're putting magnetic chips in us. She came in full of cold one day and when someone asked her if she'd tested, she said no it's just a cold. Batshit.
