Booster side effects

I had my booster on Saturday afternoon. I feel terrible today. Really nauseous, headache, not really with it. I'm wondering if this is side effects or something else, given its a whole 4 days later. I know no-one can really tell me, but just wondered if anyone had experienced similar.

I had mine on Monday and had the same symptoms as you yesterday. The nausea was awful. I feel much better today but not back to normal yet. I’m not sure if you would expect a reaction 4 days later though

Scottishgirl85 · 22/12/2021 17:52

I had symptoms soon after and lasted 24hours. 4 days doesn't seem likely. Hope you're better soon.

milkjetmum · 22/12/2021 17:57

I had booster sat am, felt really rough first 24hr, then perked up before feeling poorly again last night. So I would say it can come and go a bit, rest up if you can.

Everyone is different in how they react, in first 2 jabs I had almost no reaction whereas dh felt ill for a week with first jab! But if course also possible that you just have another bug at the same time by coincidence.

BettyfromBristol · 22/12/2021 18:07

Two days of side effects with Moderna, enough to have to cancel my self employed work and therefore not get paid.

Still hugely grateful to have had it though and will have another if recommended.

3teens2cats · 22/12/2021 18:08

I had awful nausea, a headache and mild fever which came on 16 hrs after the jab. It lasted about 8 hrs and then started to ease apart from headache and tiredness which I still have 4 days later. I can't say for sure if it's the jab, Christmas stress or a combination of the two (most likely). 4 days after seems a bit of a delayed response for side effects to start.

Squiffyyy · 22/12/2021 18:09

Had mine on Monday. Stabbed me pretty much in my fecking shoulder. Sore arm and felt a bit achy all over yesterday but nowhere near as bad ad my first two doses. Have woken up this morning with a lymph node in my collarbone on that side absolutely huge and painful. Shit me right up.

RuleOfCat · 22/12/2021 18:10

We had a range of side effects from the first two, but it's very noticeable that me and my young adult DC all had a splitting hangover-style headache after the booster. Lasted up to 36 hours, then suddenly disappeared.

StoppedWineIng · 22/12/2021 18:32

Take a lateral flow if you haven't already. A friend of mine felt round for days after hers but turned out she actually does have covid ...

Indecisivelurcher · 22/12/2021 18:39

Never heard of covid causing nausea, about the one ring I haven't heard! But I need to do a lft tomorrow morning anyway.

I had my booster on Saturday afternoon. I feel terrible today. Really nauseous, headache, not really with it. I'm wondering if this is side effects or something else, given its a whole 4 days later. I know no-one can really tell me, but just wondered if anyone had experienced similar.
Oh I'm so glad to find this thread. I had mine Saturday. Felt a bit odd then Tuesday I felt horrendous and haven't felt better since. Ache all over. Head really swimmy. Done lfts. I had 2 x pfizer then a moderna and this is my worse reaction so far. I mean it's got to be better than covid but my god I feel terrible.
babywalker2 · 22/12/2021 22:09

Symptoms came on 24 hours after jab. I feel like shit. Hot and cold, nauseous, head ache and a lump on my neck.

BoxingDayHam · 22/12/2021 22:13

How long has it lasted? Was this your booster? Does it seem worse? Sorry so many questions but I haven't felt this awful for years.
Persephonegoddess · 22/12/2021 22:29

Same as @babywalker2 jabbed Sunday, sick, clammy, temp fever Mon and Tues heavy period came on early, much better today... I had pfizer, have done negative lft each day!

Persephonegoddess · 22/12/2021 22:30

And swollen lumpy neck

heidihigh · 22/12/2021 22:31

I had my booster Saturday too. Yesterday and today I have felt on and off lightheaded and nauseous with a cracking headache. I did wonder if it was related to the jab

heidihigh · 22/12/2021 22:32

Also had 2 negative LFTs as I did wonder if it could be covid itself!

squishee · 22/12/2021 22:42

AZ x 2 here Boosted with Moderna on Sunday Minor chills, nausea, upset stomach and flu cramps / aches Mon and Tues. Better today.

senorafridgidaire · 22/12/2021 22:55

I had a Pfizer booster this morning (following 2 pfizers originally). I feel absolutely fine, other than a sore arm but I think that was a dodgy jab technique, as soon as she jabbed me she went 'argh sorry that will have hurt'. Hoping I don't go downhill for Christmas Day! Someone I work with said he lost his appetite for 3 days I'm going to be fumming if that happens to me Grin

DH had Pfizer yesterday after 2 x AZ for his first jabs and he started to feel a bit rough within a couple of hours and still isn't right now, he said he feels really hungover, headachy and spaced out.

I spoke to a lady in Tesco yesterday who said she had zero side affects at all, and someone else who vomited for 24 hours.

I find it weirdly fascinating how different the reactions can be to the same thing.

Quornflakegirl · 22/12/2021 23:00

Had mine today at 2:30 and nothing so far, I was quite unwell with the first one so was dreading it. I am really hoping nothing develops tomorrow 🤞

melmo26 · 22/12/2021 23:00

I had the Moderna booster yesterday early morning, last night I felt a little nauseous but ok. Today I have felt dizzy, my legs are aching so bad I’ve got a hot water bottle on them to try and ease the pain.
I’ve had no energy today and have a million Christmas things still to do. Also the headache.
First two were AZ and not a single side effect.
I am hoping that I wake up tomorrow felling normal.

melmo26 · 22/12/2021 23:02

Sorry wasn’t Moderna was pfizer (don’t know why I keep saying that)

multivac · 22/12/2021 23:07

Pfizer yesterday, after 2 AZs. No side effects so far. One friend felt awful 4 days after her booster; another within 12 hours, and for several days. Both Pfizer. Also have friends who have experienced no side effects, or a mild 'hangover' with the Moderna booster. As a pp said, the variety of reactions is fascinating; but then, so is the range of symptoms when infected by the virus itself.

faithfulbird20 · 22/12/2021 23:20

Omg I hate the side effects. Feels like death is approaching me. Itchy sore eyes. Sore throat. Period came 7 days early.

Suzi888 · 22/12/2021 23:23

I had no side effects. My fiend had her booster yesterday and has all the side effects you mention.
