Dealing with "I'm not having the vaccine because my friend had it and said his dick fell off" and other stories..

Ok the dick falling off is an exaggeration but I'm just so tired of this. I now don't know anyone who isn't sceptical about the jab and my pleas fall on deaf ears because there's always some story of so and so "whose legs stopped working after his jab".

I'm just ranting really. Worried about loved ones.

The thing is there are very real stories about side effects, its not all made up nonsense you know. There are vaccine damaged people (not just from Covid vaccine) all over the world.

People have the right to make up their own minds about it.

My brother wont have it he is one of the 5g mind control people, now that is just madness. He has a CDV partner aswell.

I either don’t know or don’t much care about anyone’s (who I know in real life) opinion about the vaccination or whether they’ve had it or not.

If they post on social media I scroll on by, and if it comes up in conversation I change the subject.

As you’ve discovered - my pleas fall on deaf ears because… - you’ll waste hours of your life discussing and arguing with people about their own choice. Just stop trying to control other people’s opinions and choices and you’ll be much happier.

Yes vaccines can cause side effects. I’d sooner take my chances with the vaccines than the disease.
People make odd choices with regard to risk. I don’t really understand their choices, you can’t argue with them because their choice is an emotional one not a logical one.

I don't think you can argue with them. If you need to talk to them about it, I'd just tell them those things aren't true and point them in the direction of some research, then let them get on with it.

As someone with scientific background, I can't deal with people like this ... however as someone who's double (soon to be triple) vaccinated, I understand when the different argument is used regarding vaccines not appearing to be giving us any respite from restrictions so what's the point. The messaging has really failed so I can totally understand people's views on this.

There's no point in entering into it - you could just say that any side effects from the vaccine are far fewer than from Covid - and then close the conversation after that.

As a PP points out, the government messaging on this has been so confused, it really is not helping.

95% of the time it's a load of rubbish. I know this is antidoteal but I've got one friend who works in a GP practice, one in A&E and one who does occupational health. Apart from the odd person presenting to GP with lingering headache after vaccine, not one of them has dealt with a serious case of vaccine injury. They have however dealt with serious cases of long covid causing respiratory distress, severe fatigue and heart problems.

I have an Instagram friend who shares the "real not rare" stories, and the only reason they look not so rare is that they are compiling stories from round the world into a chain of stories. Most of then I see are pretty far fetched too. There were two sudden death cases in 30 year olds, one about 2 weeks after vaccine, the other a month. While rare and very sad sudden death does happen, it happened to a lady at my gym who just suddenly dropped dead in her 20's, happened to a girl I went college with which made the news, she just dropped dead in a shopping centre (years before vaccine). I would be curious to find out if there has actually been a rise in sudden deaths in young persons, as I'd hazard a guess there hasn't. There were stories of people blaming vaccine for ME, fibromyalgia, neurological problems. When I worked doing disability benefits, there were so many claimants who had these conditions that just developed out of nowhere, abruptly. I find it far fetched that its always automatically associated with the vaccine considering these things happened before the vaccines existed.

I'm not saying it never happens, just that I don't believe some of the stories.

All medicines have side effects even aspirin but the numbers of people suffering serious side of effects from the vaccines are tiny by comparison with the benefits of vaccination. Vaccine hesitancy is understandable but the anti- vaxxers are like a religious cult gone wrong and when they need hospital treatment for Covid they displace people waiting for a hip operation, heart bypass or other serious need.

The only thing that will change their minds is being admitted to hospital with covid.
Then they will discover that all those nasty things and much worse happen with covid. Not to mention the many, many injections and drugs they will be given.

Unfortunately even being admitted to hospital isn’t convincing enough for some people. It is interesting how many of them consent to having other weird and wonderful new/ repurposed drugs though

They are not on social media. They are loved ones and family. One is now pregnant as well. Apparently she knows someone who is "now crippled due to the vaccine."

So she knows someone allegedly crippled by the vaccine? What if they knew someone crippled by long covid which could have potentially been avoided by having a vaccine

I know someone who is unvaccinated because their parents had a bad reaction to their jabs but they refuse to acknowledge all the people who have had zero reaction they clearly onlylook for evidence that reinforces their own views

Stop arguing with these people. We can all make our own free choices.

I’ve had 3 jabs (2 astrazenecas and one Moderna). My choice.

But more than 70 people have died as a result of having AstraZeneca.

Your choice is your business. Their choice is their business.

Why are you talking about it with everyone? Out of my family and friends, I know some people’s vaccination status but not all.

Don’t argue with them. Smile and nod. The sign for our local vaccination centre has “death jab” and similar written on it. Something about sheep too and inferences about it all being about control.

With this level of medical insight you should become a GP. The number of times I’ve had very real physical symptoms dismissed by medical professionals as being in my head - until I push for blood tests and lo and behold there IS an actual issue - you’d fit right in.

There ARE very real physical complications from the vaccine. People are right to want to know as much as possible and not to trust our useless government because they absolutely do not have our best interests at heart. They don’t even have the NHS’s best interests at heart - why would anyone believe that the Tories do?

Last time I checked the Tories didn't govern (and thank God too) all the other countries that are vaccinating their citizens. Take Israel for example. They are hardly going to put their own citizens in danger are they.

You are being horribly dismissive of vaccine injuries. These are real people whose lives have been dramatically changed for the worse. Would you be so dismissive of someone whose health was damaged by Covid?
