Teenager refusing vaccination

My older teen has refused to be vaccinated. It's causing endless arguments between us. Please help me deal with this

I think you have to respect their decision. The vax has very minimal benefit to children but comes with risk. A girl in dd’s class has had pretty severe tremors (head shaking) since having her vaccine. Imagine how you would feel if you forced your child to have it and that was the outcome (or worse). If they understand the benefits and risks then let them make their own decision.

I really detest that mn idea that no is a complete sentence. It isn't. It's one word. If you're going to say something at least make it make sense!
It's an incredibly important technique. It's about boundaries and creating a culture of consent.

I wonder if it was teens and young people were the ones majorly damaged and made serious ill by Covid that elderly people and older adults would have the same attitude of some teens and think I don't care it doesn't effect me I won't have the jab and I won't do LFT tests before my public facing job tole or before going shopping........

His decision might be more to do with asserting his independence, than any vaccination belief system.

I don't have a problem with creating boundaries but one single word is not & never will be a complete sentence.

You said yourself it is causing endless arguments. I would agree to disagree and respect his decision.

Firstly, if I was elderly or vulnerable (actually I am vulnerable), I would never expect young people to “protect” me by having a vaccine that has potential to cause them heart damage, clots of death. No way.

Secondly, your argument would only make sense if the vaccine was lowering transmission and preventing disease. It seems to be doing neither, so what benefit is it to older and vulnerable people if teens and young people have it? They have very very low numbers of hospitalisations and aren’t blocking NHS beds.
