Worried about booster side effects

Wednesdayafternoon · 14/12/2021 20:30

I seem to be developing a bit of anxiety around side effects on vaccines. I've had my flu jab every year and always felt awful after it for a day or so but never not had it... up until this year.
I have had both Covid vaccines and been ok but all I seem to hear is everyone going on and on about side effects of the booster and now I'm say here stressing About feeding unwell after my booster tomorrow!
Can anyone actually reassure eve that I might be ok after my booster because literally all I've heard is everyone going on and on and ON about being unwell after it :(

I was absolutely fine apart from a sore arm for around 24h

JanglyBeads · 14/12/2021 20:32

I was absolutely fine, arm hardly sore either!

Notstrongandstable · 14/12/2021 20:34

Had mine today. Tiny bit tired but that's it. Arm is absolutely fine

WreckTangled · 14/12/2021 20:36

I had my flu jab in one arm and the booster in the other. No side effects at all Smile dh had his booster Sunday and felt a bit tired Monday but that's it.

PurpleDaisies · 14/12/2021 20:38

I’ve got mine tomorrow. I felt like shit when I had covid so I’d like to avoid that!

Friends have felt a bit off for a day (like having a cold coming) and then been totally fine.

Cookerhood · 14/12/2021 20:38

I don't know anyone who has had anything other than a sore arm.

TulipsGarden · 14/12/2021 20:39

Had mine today. I feel a bit tired and achey, I think I'll have an early night, but fine really.

Thank you all, I REALLY needed to hear this :)

Glad you've all be ok ♥️

I had a slight temperature 2 evenings after the booster. I was shivery, hot then cold, BUT I didn't feel ill. The most inconvenient thing was my arm, it was sore to touch for about 5 days, red and slightly swollen. Not painful, I was just aware of not being able to sleep on my right side and not wanting to knock it. Good luck for tomorrow, you'll be absolutely fine. 💐

greatape · 14/12/2021 20:45

I had Pfizer on Friday. Felt tired and a little bit off/aches/chills around the middle of the day. In bed by 9 and slept till 9 the next day. Arm sore for Sunday and still a bit bruised today but that's it. For context I was dreadful after my first jab (az) fine after second.

Dh had moderna yesterday. He has a sore arm today. He was fine after all of his others too.

Dragongirl10 · 14/12/2021 20:46

I felt fine after mine, as did DH no symptoms at all.

Livpool · 14/12/2021 20:48

Me and DH got our boosters (Pfizer) on Saturday after the AZ jabs and had sore arms for 2 days. No one else I know has had any side effects either

jerometheturnipking · 14/12/2021 20:51

I had Pfizer yesterday afternoon. Tiny bit of arm ache this morning, chilly over lunch today/this afternoon, fine now. I was wiped out after my second dose so was nervous about work today but it was grand.

tillytoodles1 · 14/12/2021 20:51

I had my booster this morning and about 1 hour later I was so tired I went to bed for an hour. Apart from that I feel fine.

Itsbeenalongweek · 14/12/2021 20:53

I didn't feel too special after mine on Saturday - nothing too awful though, just tiredness and feeling a bit like I was coming down with something. Had a lazy PJ day on Sunday and apart from a sore arm, I've been fine since then.

Sauvignonblanket · 14/12/2021 20:53

I had mine at 5pm - Pfizer after 2xAZ - slightly sore arm, slightly stiff and a little tired, but that's it.

CraftyGin · 14/12/2021 20:53

I was very tired for a couple of days (had flu jab at the same time).

The sore arm wasn't too bad.

Bagadverts · 14/12/2021 20:53

Had booster Moderna last week. I had a sore arm for a few days and that was it.

Dandelionsss · 14/12/2021 20:54

No side effects whatsoever!

itsgettingwierd · 14/12/2021 20:54

I get what you mean!

I've had every vaccine in the programme and also flu every year as a carer for my ds.

Very happy with first 2 covid jabs but people are becoming more and more talkative about the covid jabs and it made me feel uneasy.

I still had it and was fine!

nomorefrogs · 14/12/2021 20:55

I had no side effects at all after my booster

jb23newmum · 14/12/2021 20:58

I had Pfizer after 2 x AZ - sore arm and a headache for a week - the headache was exactly the same as when I had covid . Husband had moderna and he was fine . Think most of the time you only hear the “horror “ stories and not about those that have been fine .

takingmytimeonmyride · 14/12/2021 20:58

Sore arm for a couple of days, a bit groggy and achy the next day, but painkillers sorted that out. I did feel really hot, but no temperature, quite a bit. I am getting some menopausal symptoms, so could be coincidence.

I also had a bad headache a few days later, but I get occasional bad headaches anyway, so probably not related.

I was busy doing stuff, so it wasn't too bad. If I'd have been at home I probably would have lain about moaning pitifully. Grin
