Can still smell a little. Taste is bland so probably toing to get worse yet! How long did it last for you??

I know what will be will be but only asking as I didn't have much taste last Christmas either so two years in a one is 🤯

It wasn't covid last year as tested negative. It was a mix of tonsillitis and also a wisdom tooth infection. I was using corsodyl and it killed my taste buds for a month as damaged my taste buds 😪

A couple of weeks here

userxx · 13/12/2021 15:56

2 months and 1 week for my sense of smell to return. Was jumping for joy when I realised I could smell the flash kitchen spray!!

Totorosfluffytummy · 13/12/2021 16:01

Some smells & tastes started to return at around 8 weeks for me but they're not the same as before, not as strong. It's 10 weeks now and most things I still can't smell & most food tastes bland. I can taste salt but have gone off red wine! Shock

Porfre · 13/12/2021 16:11

Taste didnt go.

But smell started to return slowly after 2 weeks

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 13/12/2021 17:43

I'm on day 9 and mine is already coming back! I had total loss too, so don't lose heart. Since I lost it I've been obsessively smelling everything in an effort to jump start it - don't know if that helped.

Mine were only gone for about a day and half so don't lose hope!

RhubarbTea · 13/12/2021 19:28

About two weeks or so, and it went fairly quick but came back more gradually. Still not 100% a month or two later but almost back to normal.

itspartytime · 13/12/2021 19:38

When did it go for you all ? I'm on day 5 of isolation ( friend reconds it's actually my day 7 as she's counting it from first day of sneezing/cold symptoms started ). I still have have both taste and ability to smell .

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 13/12/2021 19:50

@itspartytime for me it happened really suddenly on day 4.

Coronachristmas21 · 13/12/2021 19:51

@itspartytime within a day for me. Dp lost his last week within a day of testing positive too.

For me it's not fully gone yet though. Taste has pretty much gone but I can still smell somethings. So it will get worse for me for sure.

1 day for me. About 4 days in

sunshinel · 13/12/2021 20:41

Mine came back within 3-5 days, loss all taste and smell then it started coming back gradually. I don't know if it's coincidental but I was taking zinc supplements which I heard can help

PeachesPumpkin · 13/12/2021 20:43

7 months.

Oohhaveabanana · 13/12/2021 20:48

19 months so far for smell. Sad

Clarkey86 · 13/12/2021 20:52

About a week after it went and it’s already starting to come back.

I did a lot of sniffing of strong smells like olbas oil and ginger and when I realised there was a vague whiff it gave me hope!

Clarkey86 · 13/12/2021 20:52

I lost mine on about day 5 - I’m now about a week later and it’s starting to come back.

Smell came back first, then sweet fruity tastes. I still can’t taste anything subtle but there was definitely a hint of flavour in my dinner and I enjoyed a picnic bar afterwards!

BeetyAxe · 13/12/2021 20:56

3 months and no smell. It sucksSad

itspartytime · 13/12/2021 21:07

Oh gosh - feel so bad for those still suffering . Hope you get things back asap.
Fingers crossed that I stay as I am just for now at least .

CouldThisReallyBe · 13/12/2021 21:07

I never lost my taste and lost some of my smell. 5 weeks post isolation and smell still hasn't returned 100%. I can't smell citrusy smells but I can smell strong smells like garlic.

TattyDevine · 13/12/2021 21:25

Anyone had "Wuhan Sewer" as my teen called it?

TattyDevine · 13/12/2021 21:26

It's where you can't really taste or smell, but when you can it's like gin juice.

Didn't last long for her thankfully but my mates had it for months! She's lost 3 stone. Silver linings I guess as she wanted to...

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 13/12/2021 21:27

I'm on day 7

Every day I have a good hard sniff of the vicks jar but so far nothing 😐

TattyDevine · 13/12/2021 21:27

*bin juice but autocorrect knows me well 😆
