Is anyone else still completely unvaccinated?

I know this will probably cause arguments, but I’m just wondering who else is still completely unvaccinated like myself.
Mine is due to extreme anxiety and a needle phobia.
I’m not anti vaccination and I don’t think it’s a conspiracy theory or microchip etc.
I want to talk to my GP about how I’m feeling but I can’t get an appointment Sad
Now everyone is getting boosters and I haven’t even had one, I feel embarrassed and ashamed, but I can’t do it, it’s like I need to be knocked unconscious before I’ll have it. I’ve even walked into the vaccination centre but ended up leaving after a few minutes as I had a panic attack.

I don’t know what to do.

Vaccines that have already been given to 8.35 billion people are hardly "trial drugs". Do at least try to use a modicum of common sense before making an utter fool of yourself on here.

Are you thick? There aren't even 8 billion people on earth.

It's 8.45 actually. Billion. What with people having 2 or 3 doses each.

Me 👍

A handy vaccine tracker. 8.47 billion doses, not people.

Two people I used to work with are completely anti vax, believing that they have a 0.3% chance of becoming ill with the virus.

Somebodylikeyew · 13/12/2021 16:40

Thing is OP, if you got seriously ill with it (anything!) you’d have to endure a whole lot more needles in hospital.

Have you tried therapy to address your phobia?

That does not help. If there was a bingo card for the things that get told to needle phobic people, then stuff like that would be one of the things on it. OP has already said they are struggling to get a GP appointment to talk about it.

another unvaccinated here due to having myocarditis which set me up for life with a very unpleasant heart condition, which also got worse after my first (and last) flu jab 10 yrs ago whilst pregnant with DC3. I have no intentions of making my condition even worse (my children still need me to fully function) + recently had full-blown covid, which wasn't an issue and recovered fully from it.
Tried to apply for exemption on medical grounds, but my GP explained that they've made it almost impossible to qualify unless you have a full-blown allergic reaction to the vaccine on the spot when getting it. I'd happily live the rest of my life without this jab and not even think about it if it wasn't for the govt making it into a catch 22 situation for some of us.

I did (not Covid) and that's what caused my dislike of needles to become a full blown phobia.

MegaClutterSlut · 13/12/2021 16:54

I haven't had any yet, needle phobia here too. I get in a panic and want to cry just thinking about it. I finally plucked up some courage and did try and book an appt today but the site was too busy. I get myself so worked up before hand, I know the second I book it I won't sleep or be able to concentrate on anything else until its over if I manage it it sucks having a needle phobia Sad

Sunshinedrops85 · 13/12/2021 16:55

Me.

No plans to either.

SloeFox · 13/12/2021 16:56

@SpookyScarySkeletons

My sister is absolutely petrified of needles. To the point of having to be held down.

She went for her covid vaccine because she wanted the protection and explained beforehand just how scared she was.

The nurse who did it was amazing, he tapped her arm repeatedly telling her he was just looking for the best place to inject then said "right you're done!" She didn't even feel it. She cried the whole way there.

Honestly I know it's scary but it's worth it and it's also the least painful needle I have ever had.

I love that. :)

You aren't thinking this through clearly.

If you have a heart condition like myocarditis that is all the more reason to get yourself vaccinated as soon as possible!

DH is a heart failure patient surviving 26 years and counting with cardiomyopathy. He was vaxxed as soon aa we possibly could

He had his booster last week.

So many new people joining the cardiomyopathy support group this year have been 'recovered' Covid patients now learning to live with heart failure.

bettertimesarecomingnow · 13/12/2021 16:59

Me dh, and ds

Dh and ds don't want it as it was such a fast track development process

And I got so ill from the one and only flu vaccine I had that I ended up with pneumonia and never had another one.

We've all had covid in September and it was really mild so I'm not worried about it.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 13/12/2021 16:59

@MegaClutterSlut well done for trying to book.

I've got my booster tomorrow (somehow, mainly thanks to DH's patience, I've had the first two) and already ended up in tears because I saw pictures of the queues and know I won't be able to wait. I have an appointment so hopefully it won't be to bad.

Every now and then I feel weepy and panicky and can feel my heart beating twice as fast as usual and this is the day before

I know, I sometimes think it would be great for someone to come up to me in the street, tell me to sit down, roll up my sleeve and do it. The anticipation is the worst. My booster is on Sat and I’m already worrying about it, even though I consider myself to be past the full blown phobia stage 🤦‍♀️.

I have a needle phobia, which was sort of under control until first lockdown as I have to have regular injections. Knowing it was getting worse I had CBT and now it's a lot lot better. I managed to have a couple of injections sitting up in a chair which I haven't managed before ever. It's never going to go away but it's better I would get help - in my area you can self refer to the local talking therapies service, you don't need to go via a GP.

SirChenjins · 13/12/2021 17:11

I was terrified of having mine as I'd had an anaphylactic reaction to another vaccine many years ago - I find injections very stressful for that reason. The staff were absolutely brilliant, didn't rush me, took loads of time to check with the Drs that it was OK and the vaccines weren't linked in some way, I was assigned someone to sit with me afterwards and they explained what they would do if I did have a bad reaction.

I know some posters say that telling someone with a needle phobia that getting hospitalised would mean more needles is trite, but for me it's not - it helps to put things in perspective. I also have a dental phobia and it's one of the reasons I have very regular checkups - my reasoning is that any work needed can be picked up at a very early stage.

Having been involved in the pathways for end of life care for covid patients there is no way on this earth I'd want to be unvaccinated.

CurryLover55 · 13/12/2021 17:12

I just need my booster

MaxNormal · 13/12/2021 17:14

OP I am unvaccinated, due to my medical history.

I'm sorry you're finding it so hard, you clearly do want to have it and I know it's incredibly difficult actually speaking to a gp at present right when you need one to help you try and overcome the issue. No no advice but you have my sympathy.

clarepetal · 13/12/2021 17:17

Hi OP, my best friend hadn't had any vaccinations as she isn't happy as we don't know about long term affects. My boyfriend is antivax (he says he isn't, but he is!) They're entitled to their points of view, I am fully vaccinated and boosted.
I also have a phobia of something else so I totally get where you are coming from. No idea what to suggest, although some people are putting great ideas on here. Do what works for you, and you certainly aren't alone. I feel for you. Flowers

AgathaMystery · 13/12/2021 17:22

OP it always worth talking to the volunteers on the doors of vaccine centres. I do Covid vaccines & we very often vaccinate people in their cars or in the car park. It can be for a variety of reasons but I have done it for people with needle phobia, ASD, broken leg, MS, MND, You name it. It’s not unusual at all & honestly I would move heave & Earth in my vaccine centre to accommodate you if it meant it would help you get your vaccine.

@morticiamarkle

there is too much misinformation and confusion in your post to even begin to address it all

I will just say that vaccination does not prevent future infections boosting the immunse response, and no credible scientists are referring to the vaccine rollout as a "catastrophic error"

We have discussed this before, however. I suggest you step away from oddesee and bitchute.
