Is anyone else still completely unvaccinated?

I know this will probably cause arguments, but I’m just wondering who else is still completely unvaccinated like myself.
Mine is due to extreme anxiety and a needle phobia.
I’m not anti vaccination and I don’t think it’s a conspiracy theory or microchip etc.
I want to talk to my GP about how I’m feeling but I can’t get an appointment Sad
Now everyone is getting boosters and I haven’t even had one, I feel embarrassed and ashamed, but I can’t do it, it’s like I need to be knocked unconscious before I’ll have it. I’ve even walked into the vaccination centre but ended up leaving after a few minutes as I had a panic attack.

I don’t know what to do.

OP posts:

In other news, the US's FDA has said it will take 75 Years to fully release Pfizer vaccine data. Ho hum Wink
Before the fact-checkers arrive, this has been reported extensively by numerous media outlets.

Oh & the media are always so reliable 🤦🏻‍♀️

Besides this has Jack all to do with the OP's needle phobia. Just more anti vax bull.

I know of a few people who haven't had any yet!

pointythings · 13/12/2021 11:36

bubblingRiver so much misinformation in your post! The largest proportion of COVID patients in ICU are unvaccinated patients. Yes, BMI is a factor, as is age - but neither of those things are quick fixes. Getting vaccinated is. The vaccines do prevent severe disease and do reduce your risk of ending up in ICU. Stop pretending you can be young, slim and virtuous and be completely safe from ICU even if you're unvaccinated because that's untrue.

churchofthepoisonmind · 13/12/2021 11:51

@NovemberNovemberDarkNights what I have posted is fact. The FDA was forced to disclose this information following a freedom of information request. How can that be anti-vax? I am just stating a fact.
I don't understand how people can have such poor comprehension that they are incapable of distinguishing genuine facts from fake news. No wonder the world is in such a mess.
As to my post's relevance to this thread, well issues like the above are precisely why myself and others remain unvaccinated.

If you are young, slim and healthy, your chances of ending up in ICU are extremely low. Fact.

Also if you click your heels three times while facing west.

Pensieve · 13/12/2021 12:03

@independent98

You have made multiple posts claiming vaccines are causing an increased rate of ITP blood disorder and your source is a haematologist. Can you link to evidence beyond this anecdote as I don’t believe any credible health care professional would be saying this without firm evidence.

Otherwise this is known as spreading misinformation.

pointythings · 13/12/2021 12:06

And getting the vaccine will reduce those already low chances even further as well as reducing the spread if you do catch it.

independent98 · 13/12/2021 12:12

You are more than welcome to confirm my facts against the UK yellow card scheme. Furthermore my haemotologist is the most renowned itp specialist within the UK plus My gp and relatives who are also scientists have also confirmed this. There is multiple reports on the itp association website that also confirms this. I know what my experience has been living with itp and I have the right to decide whether I wish to take the risk of causing further harm to myself. It does not make me an anti vaxer.

gogohm · 13/12/2021 12:25

I personally don't know any in Britain (I know a couple of people in Germany) but I live in a high coverage area.

Is there someone @Honeyhorse who can take you to the centre and chat to you about anything to try to to distract you? Or perhaps there's apps that are good for anxiety you can play through headphones so you don't hear the sounds around you. I can assure you that it's such a fine needle you can barely feel it - the practice nurses are the best option as they give so many.

1concernedmummy · 13/12/2021 12:55

I think if you could get a GP appointment they would probably prescribe something to help you get the vaccine.

Would having a drink before help at all? I will.admit that I did that once when having a gynae procedure that I had been told by other women would be painful if I was tense. I took some vodka in a little flask and drank it in the carpark before going in to relax me (DH was driving).

SamhainToImbolc · 13/12/2021 13:02

DD (15) is needle phobic but was determined to get her vaccine. I went in with her and held her hand tight. She told them she was phobic and they kept talking to her all the time until it was done. She didn't notice the needle at all and was so surprised when they said she was done. She was so proud of herself for getting it done and they were so kind and understanding in the centre.

Who ever said on here body builders are fit and healthy using the body builder who died from covid dont know alot about what they put in their body's.

My brothers a body builder and uses steroids. He privately went body builder Mate to get his bloods taken because he has been worried about his health lately (gp refuse to do them) and he looks very healthy indeed however I dread to think what hes doing to his body and what other body builders do to they're bodys aswell with these fricking steroids. Wouldnt call them healthy unless you know what they are putting in they're bodys

4 in my family, 4 not vaccinated, none had Covid yet. Happy with my decision and won't change it

peanutbuttertoasty · 13/12/2021 13:29

I was totally unvaxxed until this morning due to being pregnant. I sat there in tears the whole time waiting for my vaccine. I just hope I've done the right thing for my baby, but definitely not an easy thing to do. I don't have needle phobia so appreciate it's a very different situation but I understand being unsure.

Coyoacan · 13/12/2021 14:03

I hope, OP, that you are looking after your immune system. That is certainly what I did before the vaccines came on the scene. Eat a healthy diet, try to be a healthy weight, take daily exercise and be happy.

nojudgementhere · 13/12/2021 14:36

I'm not vaccinated either and at the moment have no plans to be. No needle phobia or anxiety - I just don't feel comfortable with the current selection of vaccines & their ever-changing guidelines (i.e. vaccines suddenly being banned for certain age groups/locations over safety concerns and the fact that I'd now probably need regular boosters as the effects are not as long-lasting as originally hoped). With any luck a more effective and safer alternative will be available at some point soon - if so I would probably take it as I'm not anti-vax just anti-this-vax.

How old are you @Draggondragon ? You sound about 5.

FutureHope · 13/12/2021 16:10

Honeyhrose I really feel for you. Needle phobia is awful.

If you can’t get through to the GP, then if you go to the vaccine centre, you will meet with nothing but kindness and support. The people there are used to it, and will guide you through it. If you feel you cannot go in, tell someone at the door, and they’ll help you.

Draggondragon · 13/12/2021 16:23

I'm 49. With a pension, full health insurance and investments. I'm not 5, just despair of adults who act like they are who don't have 100k plus tax free income but feel they can wax lyrical.
