Is anyone else still completely unvaccinated?

I know this will probably cause arguments, but I’m just wondering who else is still completely unvaccinated like myself.
Mine is due to extreme anxiety and a needle phobia.
I’m not anti vaccination and I don’t think it’s a conspiracy theory or microchip etc.
I want to talk to my GP about how I’m feeling but I can’t get an appointment Sad
Now everyone is getting boosters and I haven’t even had one, I feel embarrassed and ashamed, but I can’t do it, it’s like I need to be knocked unconscious before I’ll have it. I’ve even walked into the vaccination centre but ended up leaving after a few minutes as I had a panic attack.

I don’t know what to do.

I am due to a history of several vaccine reactions over the years. Nobody wants to risk a reaction yet nobody wants to give me an exemption either 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ it's quite frustrating

churchofthepoisonmind · 13/12/2021 10:38

Not vaccinated, by choice. I came very close to being vaccinated right at the start but chose not to. Was then on the fence for a while but the past year I have been very comfortable with my decision and am very relieved I did not get the vaccine.

Kendodd · 13/12/2021 10:39

Oh, and if you drive, a walk in centre may be able to come out to your car to vaccinate you.
Good luck op and well done, even starting this thread is progress.

Another suggestion might just be to take a valium or something (if you can get one) to get yourself down there.

BoredZelda · 13/12/2021 10:40

You should be very angry at those choosing not to. Any calculation about herd immunity includes those who cannot be vaccinated. I’d say you fall in to that category.

I am curious how those with needle phobia deal with life or death situations. I’m pretty bad with the whole thing but not properly phobic. Because of various health issues I’ve had more needles stuck in to me than I can count. Is there a process they put in place to help needle phobics in those situations?

My partner is unvaccinated because he thinks he's invincible and he has covid he's on day 7 today

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 13/12/2021 10:42

@CBroads

I'm still unvaccinated, I have no intentions of getting vaccinated and I won't be guilt tripped into getting a trial drug injected into my body. Each to their own. Boris is mugging every single one of us off, regardless of whether you're vaccinated or not.
Stop spreading crap.

@CBroads

If you don't want to get it, that (unfortunately for the vulnerable) is (currently) up to you.

But stop spouting crap about it being a trial drug. It's not.

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 13/12/2021 10:43

@YogaLite

I am also unvaccinated, does anyone even trust the government now?
That's irrelevant.

Fortunately for us, scientists develop vaccines, not Government!

It is not a trial drug. The vaccines in use here have now been used on millions of people, with statistically next to no side-effects. If you prefer covid in your body, think on this:

www.theguardian.com/society/2021/nov/30/life-tragic-death-john-eyers-fitness-fanatic-who-refused-covid-vaccine

"John was unmoving. “He kept saying: ‘I won’t be a guinea pig.’”" Read what happened to him.

MarshaBradyo · 13/12/2021 10:44

I agree with you on the personal risk argument and of course the vulnerable should be supported in getting their vaccine

Ok do you agree if vaccines slow spread so we don’t need say, a lockdown, it’s good if more people have them? If it means we can avoid harsh restrictions.

Just generally, not saying what you have to do

Kendodd · 13/12/2021 10:46

And as for the anti vax loons on the thread. I know a family of four, all unvaccinated. Older generation (late 60s early 70s, minor health issues) younger generation (40s no health issues (they said)). They all got covid last month. One's dead, one's just out of hospital (don't know what condition) two minor illness, recovered fine.

It honestly baffles me why anyone would think the vaccine is more dangerous than covid.

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 13/12/2021 10:48

@TurnUpTurnip

Yes I am for no reason other than I don’t want to have it and won’t give it to my children either
@TurnUpTurnip

'I don't want to'. Well that's a mature, well thought out, response to a vaccine isn't it.

You're not 7, we're not discussing bedtime.

Pensieve · 13/12/2021 10:49

Every time I see misinformation on a thread now I report it now as it’s feeding a circular self referencing news flow and in this case it’s an anti-vax agenda.

If you don’t want a vaccine don’t, I disagree but each to their own. However DO NOT spread FALSE information.

I will report you every time and so should everyone else.

independent98 · 13/12/2021 10:50

You are not alone.
I have not been vaccinated as I have a blood disorder which could cause an adverse reaction from the vaccine or the virus and I cannot be made exempt until I have had my first jab and have an adverse reaction. Taking the vaccine will require alot of planning re being off work, weekly blood tests and monitoring. The risk of catching covid and being vaccinated is the same so when people say just get vaccinated, they need to consider people's risk factors.

Vaccines that have already been given to 8.35 billion people are hardly "trial drugs". Do at least try to use a modicum of common sense before making an utter fool of yourself on here.
JanisMoplin · 13/12/2021 10:51

@independent98 what do you mean by the risk of catching covid and being vaccinated is the same? makes no sense.

It is similar to people who are phobic of the dentist, but only see one when their face is ballooned up from an abscess and they can't sleep from the pain. There can come a point where you just don't care anymore. But that feeling of not caring can not be replicated when it is just routine appointments. If that makes sense!

The blood disorder I have (itp) which causes low platelets is usually as a result of a virus or a vaccine. Prior to the pandemic, the blood disorder was rare however my haemotologist has advised that many more people have now developed itp as a result of the covid vaccine.

independent98 · 13/12/2021 10:59

Also others have developed my blood disorder following catching covid.

My DH had his booster at the weekend - the person in front of him was having their first vaccination and the person behind was having their second. So you are not alone! I used to hate needles - but maybe not as terrible as a phobia - I persuaded myself that if I got ill then I would have to have more needles in me.
onlychildhamster · 13/12/2021 11:00

@BubblingRiver if vaccinated people get covid, it is more likely to be a mild infection that doesn't warrant a hospital stay. Most of the covid patients in hospital are unvaccinated. If there is a huge break out (as there would be with this new variant), we would have little choice but to lockdown so as not to overwhelm the NHS. However if we all get boosters, there would be fewer people in hospital and maybe we wouldn't need full lockdown..

Often when the government chooses to lockdown, it's usually because the horse has already bolted. Locking down Vs not locking down makes little difference- many people would be staying home anyway as they are ill and people wouldn't go out for fear of contracting the virus.

Kendodd · 13/12/2021 11:02

I think you mean doses.
Your point still stands though.

fitsandgiggles · 13/12/2021 11:02

I've had no jabs at all, neither has DH or my Father infact a lot if people I know. We've all had covid and have been fine luckily. I hope you manage to overcome your fear and get jabbed if that is what
You wish for. No hate everyone's entitled to their opinion and choice x
