So I had the Pfizer booster yesterday and everything was fine until the evening. I started to feel cold so added a blanket to my bed. Woken up today and feel like I have been hit by a bus. I am so busy at work (WFH) and have lots of deadlines so can't afford to take time off (no-one else to cover my work and am going to have to work the weekend to catch up on todays work that I couldn't concentrate on). I am a terrible sick person and feel so sorry for myself so I know I am being an ass. I just wondered if anyone else had the same issue and when did they feel better. Lying I'm bed with 2 duvets a jumper and cardigan on and still feel so cold and feverish. I have taken an LFT which was negative so assuming its the booster. Wish I hadn't bothered now. (See I am a pathetic sick person). 😫 can anyone give me any hope? Thanks

I had my booster yesterday lunchtime (moderna). I feel fine at the moment, waiting for 24 hours to come. Friend of mine had her's the day before and it has hit her like a bus. I'm on a night shift Saturday night and can't afford to take time off, we short staffed as it is.

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 11/12/2021 01:12

I had very similar after my booster, though mine was Moderna not Pfizer. My first two jabs were AZ. I was knocked out for about 36 hours Sad.

Honestly, if you feel like this in the morning, you are better off taking a sick day. Otherwise you will be worrying about making mistakes, accidentally nodding off and so on.

You say can't afford to take time off (no-one else to cover my work ...) but honestly - suppose (not meaning to be morbid) you had an accident and were completely out of commission for two weeks - would the business fall apart? I doubt it - they'd somehow cope.

They'll cope for a couple of days if you need it to recover from your jab.

I have just noticed there is a covid section so reported to mumsnet to move ASAP. Everyone I know that had the Moderna had no issues so I thought I would be fine but wish I had left it until work was less busy (realistically thats never 🤪). Bloody Covid. Fed up of it now.

Better you are off for a day or two post-vaccine than for a week or more with Covid.

caketiger · 11/12/2021 02:18

My first 2 was ox AZ, booster was Pfizer 6pm on a Saturday. Sunday - Wednesday on and off periods of much sleeping and feeling like I had been hit by a bus. So damn tired. Luckily I was on annual leave so just slept when I felt like I needed to. Thursday totally back to normal!

BashfulClam · 11/12/2021 02:22

I’m nervous as I had AZ and was really I’ll earlier in the year, my booster is tomorrow.

HelloDaisy · 11/12/2021 06:34

I had the moderna booster yesterday afternoon and felt fine for the rest of the day.

I’ve woken up this morning with a really sore arm that feels a bit numb too and feel sick.

Like you, ChristmasDilemma1 I am not a good sick person and have health anxiety so think it’s going to be a long day!

GoodnightGrandma · 11/12/2021 06:37

I felt like you when I had my first AZ.
Felt better next day.

greatape · 11/12/2021 06:56

I felt dreadful after my first AZ. Fine after second. Had my Pfizer booster last night.

My arm is sore this morning but that's it so far. I feel a bit knackered but I've been sleeping poorly, have the end of a cold and just started my period so that's not a huge surprise.

I am having a lazy morning just in case though (everyone is going out except me so I plan to watch little women in bed once I've cleaned the bathroom).

friedeggandsauce · 11/12/2021 06:58

I was awful after my AZ, had Pfizer around 430 yesterday. At the moment my arm hurts but that's it- hoping nothing else happens!! I'm a bit nervous now

TattiePants · 11/12/2021 07:08

Both DH and I have our boosters this morning after both having no problems with our earlier AZ vaccinations. Lots of my family had no problems with AZ but were really ill after their booster. I’ve got so much to do this weekend that I think I better do lots today in case I’m wiped out tomorrow!

OhFGSWhenDoesItStop · 11/12/2021 07:26

I've just had my booster (Moderna). I had it at 9 and by the evening was beginning to feel ropey. I woke at 1, heart racing, aching and didn't really sleep again, although I felt wired rather than sleep all day. Felt fine since lunch time and the tiredness caught up around 830pm last night. Woke half an hour ago and feel fine.

Definitely easier and shorter side effects than jab 2.

OldTinHat · 11/12/2021 07:40

I had the Pfizer booster on Wednesday at lunchtime after two AZ jabs. By 1am I was freezing, my teeth were chattering, I couldn't get warm, couldn't move my arm, had an awful headache. I didn't sleep at all after then. I had a really rough day on Thursday, went to bed about 6pm. Yesterday I literally leapt out of bed and felt absolutely great! My arm was/is only sore if I prod it.

XmasElf10 · 11/12/2021 07:57

I had Pfizer booster this week, apart from a sore arm I’ve been fine (my first two were AZ). Sorry you feel shit!

SuperDuperJezebel · 11/12/2021 08:01

I had my third Pfizer yesterday, so far just a head arm, and I've woken up with a slight headache. Hopefully that's it for me, as it was a similar experience with the first 2!

Paquerette · 11/12/2021 08:30

I had a Moderna booster on Tuesday morning after two AZ jabs previously. I was advised by the vaccinator to drink lots of water for a couple of days and take paracetamol after 6 hours, then every 6 hours until the following evening. I still had a sore arm, and briefly felt slightly off for a few hours (Tuesday evening) but not too bad.

Coffeeisnecessary · 11/12/2021 08:36

I had my Pfizer booster on Thursday and just had a sore arm and a bit of a headache. So strange how much the side effects vary person to person!

SaltedCaramelHC · 11/12/2021 08:37

I had Pfizer booster - sore arm and very tired for a day, but so much better than getting covid and long term damage, was quite happy to have it. And happy to think that it meant it was working!

iolaus · 11/12/2021 08:40

I had a pfizer booster well over 2 months ago - absolutely no issues at all (and had flu at the same time)

Youarethecarcass · 11/12/2021 09:45

I could have written this. Booster Wednesday - completely floored early hours Thursday morning. Dreamt I was shaking uncontrollably but I now think it wasn’t a dream. Rang in sick Thursday (wfh but no way I could manage) and spent the day in onesie, duvet and furry throw and couldn’t get warm - headache and backache too. It felt like a bad flu.

There is light at the end of the tunnel @ChristmasDilemma1. Yesterday I was loads better but knackered and today I’m still exhausted but finally feel human.

My reaction to the booster really took me by surprise as I was fine after my first two (also Pfizer) x

HellToupee · 11/12/2021 10:02

I had my Pfizer booster on Thursday, after two doses of AZ.

The AZ made me feel ropey but this Pfizer booster has only made my arm feel a bit sore, that’s it.

olivesnutsandcheeseplease · 11/12/2021 12:10

This is weirdly making me feel better (or less alone). Had Pfizer for 1&2 with no issues and then got Moderna booster yesterday at 2pm.
Started to feel weird last night then was up all night firstly shivering uncontrollably and then from about 4am boiling hot with a temperature. I am next to useless today, popping paracetamol every 4 hours and adding more layers. Hope it doesn't last too long

NK346f2849X127d8bca260 · 11/12/2021 12:31

I had Moderna booster lunchtime on Wednesday after two doses of Pfizer. The next morning i was achy, nauseous, headache, sore armpit but that had all disappeared after 12 hours. I had similar after the second Pfizer jab.

absolutelynotfabulous · 11/12/2021 15:25

Had Booster last Friday. Was fine (ish) if a bit fluey all week but I'm still feeling rough now, with a cough and a lost voice. Maybe it's nothing to do with the jab-I dunno. Was fine after jabs 1 and 2.

gogohm · 11/12/2021 15:32

I was fine mostly but got the shivers for about 2 hours
