Im positive, does double vaxd dh need to isolate?

Sorry this has probably been posted so many times but i cant keep up with the latest guidelines!
Dh and i have had both vaccine jabs, no boosters yet.
I got a positive lateral flow result this morning, and have mild symptoms.
Dh has no symptoms and a negative lateral flow result.
I am certain that he doesnt have to isolate (i do, of course) but i have family members saying he does need to?
I have a pcr test coming in the post and i get that if it turns out its omnicron that changes things, but does he really need to isolate until my pcr result??

If you’re in England, no he doesn’t need to isolate until someone from test and trace tells him he needs to.
If he tests positive or gets symptoms, obviously that changes,

He will be advised to get a PCR if in England but its not compulsory
If you were in Scotland he'd need to PCR and would need to isolate until he got a negative result

Thank you @PurpleDaisies i did read that guidance and i think my family member believes that all cases of covid are "suspected or confirmed omnicron variants
" until my pcr proves otherwise hence why he would need to isolate in the meantime, whereas thats not how i interpet it at all. Sorry if that doesnt make sense ive not worded it too well.
@dementedpixie yes we are in england, have ordered him a pcr test too but was hoping he can still get out of the house before our results come back.

It clearly says “nhs test and trace will contact you if this is the case”.

It takes time to find out if its Omicron so you wouldn't find out straight away if he needed to isolate too

1. He is fully vaccinated if he has had his two doses more than 14 days ago …. And is not required to isolate
2. He is encouraged to minimise contact with the wider community
3. Once your results are back if Omnicron is identified then he will be required to isolate

He’s free to go out, but should just be as careful as he can.

My fully vaccinated brother was fortunate enough to be able to isolate when his children tested positive. Just as well as he has now tested positive. So no you don't have to. But can he? I appreciate not everyone's employers are understanding.

I'm in this position too (dd confirmed positive). I'm double vaccination and booster due this week, but my last vaccine was more than 6 months ago in May. Anyone know if I'm still counted as double vaccinated and so free attend commitments this week?

Depends which U.K. country you are in as Wales and Scotland require you to isolate I think until his first negative test

No worries! They’ll be a big announcement if they change the criteria. The booster programme isn’t anywhere near ready for that at the moment.

Nope for now he doesn't but would be ideal if he got a pcr though. He should still be cautious if he can - masks, social distancing, avoiding crowded places etc! But no he can go about as usual as long as he remains symptom free!

No. I think sensible precaution to get a pcr test and avoid crowded places but supermarket shops, school runs and daily exercise all ok IMO.

For the majority - yes

For the average adult fully vaccinated is a course of two doses plus 14 days, and the booster is a winter top up

For some such as vunerable persons who are immunocompromised there may be a course of 3 doses, and they would expect a booster later as well

Equally if someone is on a single dose course then they would be fully vaccinated x days after their one dose

No need to isolate unless you are told yours is suspected (contact with) or confirmed (from test) omicron

Of course the respnsubje thing wouid be for him to minimise contact with others, and practice social distancing (mask, distance, ventilation)

In terms of not having to isolate (or travel/covod passport etc), it’s two vaccines. I’m happy to be pointed to other information saying those groups must isolate if they’re pinged only having been double vaccinated @Tommika

The Jansen vaccine is approved in the UK as a single dose, and probably only applies to 12-15 year olds

On my notification it was stated ‘fully vaccinated’ not an explicit number of doses

So for someone vulnerable on a 3 dose course they would not be fully vaccinated with 2

…. On the basis of fully vaccinated then no, not required to isolate
(Unless it’s involving omnicron in which case isolation is currently required irrespective of vaccination status)

Although you don’t need to isolate (unless Omicron), when I’ve been in this position (3 different family members at different times - I’ve been lucky, so far!), I have kept a low profile, cancelling meetings with friends, interest groups etc.
