I have been finding his very moving.

However, it just occurred to me halfway through that no one seems to be wearing a mask. What a shame this isn't being managed better.

After all, we wouldn't want the veterans present to get ill.

And the royal family aren't setting an example either.

Prety awful messaging really.

They all had to show Covid double vaxxed passes to get in

Comefromaway · 13/11/2021 22:03

I thought similar.

Dd works at a London theatre and wishes more audience members would wear masks.

You can still get Covid whilst vaccinated. Dd did. If she can’t work she doesn’t get paid.
Whyamistilltired · 13/11/2021 22:07

I think it's great. I'd prefer to go out full pelt at that age than some half baked affair with everyone miles apart unable to see each others faces. They'll be boostered too I'm sure

herecomesthsun · 13/11/2021 22:09

I wouldn't describe a covid death as "going out full pelt"; they are pretty miserable.

I am being a bit mischievous but honestly they probably all did flow tests before they were allowed in too, you know like when you go abroad? Test, test and test, jab, jab and jab . Life goes on

herecomesthsun · 13/11/2021 22:12

There is one brave (?British Legion) person with a mask. Well done you, if you ever read this.

Crack on.

Absolutely agree OP. Covid death not nice whatever your age

I'm double vaccinated and got covid.

In many ways I am so very pleased to see it back to it's full programme. Ever since I was a child I used to watch the muster with my mum and it was her favourite bit, seeing the service people line up for the service. Having been part of the festival 4 times now, I found it quite difficult to watch last year.

I bet. I went to the theatre a few weeks back - was SO good to be back in a lively busy happy place, but DM and i were sitting there, packed in the stalls, dutifully wearing our masks as advised by the booking email and looking at literally everyone else mask-free and saying to each other 'oh - did we misunderstand about the masks?' because it was just so striking that nobody else was wearing one.

Announcement just before the performance again asked people to wear masks but almost nobody put one on. It was the lowest level of mask compliance I've seen so far, and I've been on public transport loads and I live in an area where many are sceptical of the government.

I really feel for people like your daughter.

Poshjock · 13/11/2021 22:23

Oh and I'm double vax and boostered and I ended up with Covid last week ! Last day of isolation today

steppemum · 13/11/2021 22:25

I'm double vaxxed and got covid.

while it all looks lovely and it is lovely to hear the singing, I think it is probably a big risk.

Still, in this context it is a risk you chose, everyone there has chosen to go.

Whyamistilltired · 13/11/2021 22:25

You can still catch it!!!

You're not in ICU though are you presumably??

Tealightsandd · 13/11/2021 22:29

Perhaps the audience will have access to prophylactic monoclonal antibodies?

I noticed one or two masks. Big respect to those people.

Whyamistilltired · 13/11/2021 22:30

Everyone has chosen to be there haven't they? Surely that's a critical point

Comefromaway · 13/11/2021 22:33

The staff have no choice.

You probably don't choose to go there if you're in the armed forces... I'm surprised by the lack of masks, though I can hardly complain being maskless at a theatre recently.
XenoBitch · 13/11/2021 22:38

This reminds of the time the queen was seen at an outdoor event with no mask, and people lost their mind over it. Her own doctor had told her not to wear one.

herecomesthsun · 13/11/2021 22:40

except that this isn't oudoors, of course

No one is wearing masks anywhere I’ve been recently.

Seriously what use are masks?

I have always been perfectly aware I could catch it, I work in healthcare and as part of the vaccination team delivering covid vaccines. I was merely black catting those whose said they'd had 2 vax and caught it as I'd had three. An attempt at black humour.

Definitely not in ICU , apart from loosing my taste (gutted) all I've had is a bit of sinusitis and a banging sore head for 3 days.

We're still wearing masks in Scotland, it's probably why our case rate is lower than it is in England.

You make your choices.
