Just wondering how they managed? My son is due his 2 days before mock gcses and really hoping side effects are none to little. I've seen some hubs are doing this age so I may try to arenage this instead.

Nope not even a sniff of it yet. His school are saying they’ve been told it will be mid November at the soonest. I’m thinking of taking him to a drop in vaccination centre, channel 4 news this evening said this is now allowed.

Choccymumma · 19/10/2021 20:13

Ooh thats good to know, thanks.

Quick look says they are not eligible to book online. Assuming they can't just turn up either?

After half term here

zobalina77 · 19/10/2021 20:20

My 13 year old has had his at school today. His arm is a tiny bit swollen but he seems ok in himself so far.

milkysmum · 19/10/2021 20:29

Yes my 12 year old dd had a couple of weeks ago at school.

MoMuntervary · 19/10/2021 20:35

Yes and he was (probably) unwell with it. He MAY have been swinging the lead, but I think he was actually very tired and achy the first day. The second day he was much better. Make sure he doesn't get it in his writing arm!

MerryMarigold · 19/10/2021 20:36

My Y11 had it last week. He was quite I'll the day after and slept a lot of the day. He NEVER sleeps in the day so I knew he wasn't well. Back in the day after.

MerryMarigold · 19/10/2021 20:36

Ill obviously, not I'll

Cantstopthewaves · 19/10/2021 20:38

12yo ds had it last week. No problems just a bit of a sore arm the next day.

dementedpixie · 19/10/2021 20:43

My 15 year old ds had it a couple of weeks ago. We're in Scotland so it was at a vaccination centre. Had a sore arm for a couple of days

MajorCarolDanvers · 19/10/2021 20:46

Mine had it quite a few weeks ago now.

He had a sore arm for a couple of days but apart from that was completely fine.

MegCleary · 19/10/2021 20:48

Dd 14 had it a few weeks ago sore arm for a day

Clutterbugsmum · 19/10/2021 21:08

Yes a couple of weeks ago, both just had a sore arm.

Delatron · 19/10/2021 21:21

Yes DS 12 had it last week. Not even a sore arm! Was absolutely fine.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2021 21:23

Yes, both dd 14 and ds 13

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2021 21:23

Just a sore arm. No issues!

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2021 21:25

I used a drop in here. They were happy to vaccinate my ds :) He did have an appointment but I thought I would just chance it as the drop in was earlier.

Vallmo47 · 19/10/2021 21:25

Yes 3 weeks ago, has already been exposed to covid in household since and he didn’t catch it! Big thumbs up for vaccination! He did complain of a sore arm for one day or so though.

WhoWants2Know · 19/10/2021 21:25

My 13 year old had hers last week. Slightly sore arm in the evening, but otherwise fine.

Thedogshow · 19/10/2021 21:26

Yes, slightly sore arm but no other side effects.

GoodnightGrandma · 19/10/2021 21:26

Yes. Slight headache that evening, but went with one dose of paracetamol. I’m not even sure if it wasn’t psychological as he was almost waiting for something to happen .

sofakingcool · 19/10/2021 21:28

12 year old DS is having his mid November, although DH was saying he read earlier that parents will be able to book online to take their children earlier if they want to? With the hope lots of children will go during half term I think

Meredusoleil · 19/10/2021 21:29

Yes. Dd1 had it a few weeks ago, just days before her 13th birthday! No side effects apart from a sore arm for a couple of days.

Helocariad · 19/10/2021 21:30

15 yo had the jab 2 weeks ago in a walk-in centre. Sore arm and feeling a bit tired for 48hrs afterwards. So glad we chose to have them jabbed when we did, there's an outbreak in the school now
