Yes

Hidehi4 · 19/10/2021 14:48

Yeah

SherlocksDeerstalker · 19/10/2021 14:48

Yep

Megan2018 · 19/10/2021 14:49

Yes.
But I have had 2 just like this last week and the PCRs were negative!

SummerHouse · 19/10/2021 14:49

Yes it is. We had two faint positive LFTs in our household followed by two positive PCRs. If there's a line, there's a line and that's the virus detected. And there is definitely a line Doesn't matter how faint.

SpookyPumpkinPants · 19/10/2021 14:50

Yes - sorry. I can see it & I can't usually on these threads, so it's highly likely it is.

Best book in a PCR.

I hope the person who has done is feels better soon.

I would be more inclined to believe the LFTs given recent developments. False positives very rare. Two seems extremely unlikely.

Yes. But I have had 2 just like this last week and the PCRs were negative!
I would do another PCR.
SusannahD · 19/10/2021 14:52

Yes, there is a faint line there.

BlackInk · 19/10/2021 14:54

Did the 2nd line appear within the time-frame?
We've had a couple look like this if left for a few hours – follow up LFTs and a PCR were negative.

My son's 1st positive LFT also looked like this with the 2nd line appearing well within the time-frame. Follow up LFT the next day was a clear bright positive and PCR positive.

If you have any symptoms or have been in contact with a positive case I would order a PCR. If not I would do another couple of LFTs and see what they show.

thebear1 · 19/10/2021 14:55

Yes, we had one like it yesterday evening which has now been confirmed by pcr.

Megan2018 · 19/10/2021 15:00

@SpookyPumpkinPants
I was told I don’t meet the criteria for another PCR-no symptoms and exposure to close contact too long now. I did 3 PCRs in 11 days. All negative. Some were within 2hrs of the LFD.

Toddler DD was positive on a PCR after nursery outbreak, although I didn’t have to isolate I did because of looking after her. Her isolation is long past and my exposure is too long ago now for a PCR to be any use.

wolfstarling · 19/10/2021 15:02

Yes definitely positive.

BMWqueen · 19/10/2021 15:11

I hope you're both (all?) feeling well now. 💐

I'm sorry you're both unwell, irrespective of what it is!!

Check the instructions, some of the tests I have have been 15 minutes or 20 minutes & not to read them after that, but do another. Personally I'd do one tomorrow after checking the instructions & book PCR tests.

Hope you feel better soon!

DaxtheDestroyer · 19/10/2021 16:55

Yes, definitely positive. My DDs looked like that before she got a positive PCR.

@Megan2018 I would assume that your negative PCRs were processed at the dodgy lab which has now been suspended and which sent out incorrect results to 10s of thousands of people. We've been caught up in this and because our PCRs were last week we've been told we have to retest but if yours was more than 10 days ago they won't bother getting in touch as it's too late.

Megan2018 · 19/10/2021 16:59

@SpookyPumpkinPants yes thank you. I had no symptoms and DD had a cough eventually but was otherwise absolutely fine. She was only tested as a precaution as we had no indication she had it. I’m sure I had it in some form but perhaps because I am double jabbed and wasn’t ill it just didn’t register on the PCR test in terms of viral load. But I was home for just shy of 13 days in the end anyway so no-one is at risk.

But the tests are a lottery I think. I no longer know what to believe! My last positive LFD was so clear. I wonder if they will uncover another rogue lab….

No they were after the Wolverhampton lab was closed. I had a postal first that went to MK (as you can track them) and the two walk-ins were more recent. The last one I had results on Sunday, taken last Friday. But I think it’s quite possible to have dodgy results elsewhere too.
Wellbythebloodyhell · 19/10/2021 18:36

Every time I have logged a lateral flow result on the gov website its asked me to take a photo and the system has then determined by the photo if its positive or negative. If it's deemed positive it will then ask you to book a PCR to confirm

saltontoast · 19/10/2021 18:57

@Wellbythebloodyhell wow I never knew they did this, I've had a few that looks like OPs and then followed up with negative PCRs

Wellbythebloodyhell · 19/10/2021 19:37

@saltontoast I know a few people who don't report their lft and I can understand why if its a clear negative but its useful especially in OP case where there's uncertainty on the result its given

Wellbythebloodyhell · 19/10/2021 19:39

Government probably caught on that anyone could log a lft as being negative without actually doing it if it was needed to gain entry into large events or required by work now you need to prove it

That's not quite right. My friends got a letter to say theirs were processed in the lab, but not to retest as too much time had passed.
