Am I eligible?

It's 6 months since I had my second jab.
I worked in social care which is why I got my jab 'early'. I'm 40.
The booking system tells me that I'm now eligible to have a booster and tells me I must take proof of my job to my appointment.
I no longer work in social care.
So it will be 6month since my jab but I'll not be able to have the vaccine?

I'd say not. You will need proof of your job and you don't have it now? My DP had to prove he still worked in front line health care on Tuesday when he had his.

Book the booster online and then ring the venue you've chosen.

They'll be able to answer your question.

They are only giving boosters to certain groups. If you no longer fall into this category they may not. I would check before attending.

No you are not eligible.
Only require a booster if over 50, frontline health or social care, clinically vulnerable of any age.
No-one else will be given booster as not considered necessary at the moment

The protection from your first two vaccines doesn't stop at 6 months, that's just the minimum gap the eligible high risk groups need to have between their 2nd dose and the booster. As you no longer work in social care, you won't be eligible at the moment.

You aren't eligible. The system only says that you are because it doesn't know that you no longer work in social care. You could turn up with old ID. I don't understand why you think you should have a booster yet.

I was told I am due to get one as being a carer for my disabled child. But it has to be 6 months after last one.

Other people of my age will still have weeks/a good couple of months of protection and my protection is rapidly decliningSad

But I think what they've said is that age affects peoples immunity so it's over 50s who may have a problem with waning immunity, not your age group.
Health and social care staff have a well documented higher occupational risk of contracting covid.

You benefitted by having them earlier though, to protect you in your job.

If you have it that's a dose and an appointment meant for someone else who then has to wait longer for theirs. This isn't the same as the first jab where it was just a quick get as many vaccines in arms as we can situation.

I had mine today, they checked who my employer is, as it’s the health board vaccinating me they didn’t ask to see anything but I would imagine I would have been asked if it was any other employer.

I am in the same situation, I don't think we are eligible anymore and it worries me having had the vaccines early

Yes, it's worrying. Well I've booked using the online system and my appointment is tomorrow lunchtime. I tried calling the vaccination hub but no one was able to provide an answer so I'm going along. Figured them telling me to bugger off will only take 30seconds and there are still lots of appointments tomorrow for vaccines at the hub ( basically pick your time and go judging by the appointments on the app) so I haven't used up a much wanted appointment. I'll report back.

Sorry I misunderstood. Tbh they might just jab you anyway as they don't like to waste it. Depends on their planning of stock levels I guess.

I had my booster 2 weeks ago and the vaccination centre was very quiet so you definitely wouldn’t be taking it from someone else.
