Am I going to die :(

Iwannabelikeyouohh · 08/10/2021 21:43

My husband has just had a positive LFT.

I’m absolutely petrified. I’m extremely obese with a BMI of 40.

I am fully vaccinated but I have had two different vaccines. 1 AZ and 1 Pfizer.

I feel physically sick with worry. 😓

That test is negative - there are 2 lines if it’s positive

Wineat5isfine · 08/10/2021 22:31

I can’t see a second line on either?

Strangevipers · 08/10/2021 22:31

I can see. Two lines - very faint positive line but a line

AlandAnna · 08/10/2021 22:31

You’re not going to die Flowers

Ride it out one day at a time x

NauseousNancy · 08/10/2021 22:32

I’ve just had covid. 33, asthmatic, bmi 42. Felt like a heavy head cold, few days in bed and I’m right as rain 2 weeks later.

niceberg · 08/10/2021 22:32

Looks like a faint positive. Book in for PCR to be certain.

Lots of pp have given good advice and reassurance. I hope you manage to feel better about things Thanks

BestZebbie · 08/10/2021 22:32

The line next to C for Control means the test is working properly - it isn't C for Coronavirus.

There would be a second line next to the other letter as well if it was positive.

That photo is of a clearly negative LFT.

Katya213 · 08/10/2021 22:33

No, I'm pretty sure you will be okay.x

Strangevipers · 08/10/2021 22:33

But there is a faint line next to the ' T'

There is a faint line next to the T!

He needs to get a PCR test to double check but you’ll both be fine.
I know about 20 people who are positive right now and a couple are extremely vulnerable and they’re just fine.

Don’t worry about your weight just now but do make sure you eat healthily and get fresh air and exercise to keep your immune system in good health incase you do get covid or any of the other bugs going around.

Becca7910 · 08/10/2021 22:35

Someone I know who is extremely obese and had to be hospitalised who had it survived. She was also recovering from a stroke. You've got this. Whoever asked if you've been able to work on lowering your bmi is very annoying. You obviously realise this is an issue. I wish some people would realise that you maybe have various health issues that contribute to your bmi and might have a healthier lifestyle than they do! You don't need patronising, as you've already acknowledged your weight isn't the best. Hope you're OK. Keep us updated. X

ParkheadParadise · 08/10/2021 22:37

This is a positive test.

Am I going to die :(
Iwannabelikeyouohh · 08/10/2021 22:37

The thing is I have an awful headache and a blocked nose but I’ve done two LFT’s and they are negative.

"Am I going to die?!"
YES we all are!
What a question to pose on MN or to anyone! 🤯🤯

LlamasintheFog · 08/10/2021 22:37

Pretty sure that's a negative test anyway.

But as a positive example my BMI is higher than yours, I'm 15 years older and, when DS got Covid in August I had 24 hrs feeling spacy and weird and then was completely fine.
If you are jabbed, even if there is Covid in the house, I'm sure you'll be fine

Griefmonster · 08/10/2021 22:38

OP without being trite - of course you are going to die one day. Your chances of dying of covid appear to be low however.

Iwannabelikeyouohh · 08/10/2021 22:39

@ParkheadParadise

This is a positive test.
@ParkheadParadise

Thanks. I am aware though what a positive test looks like.

You will see in the leaflet that it says any line (wether faint or prominent) in the T section, is positive.

The picture may not show it clearly, but there is a faint line on my husbands test.

OP posts:
Piggy42 · 08/10/2021 22:42

@ParkheadParadise my ds’s positive test was much fainter than that

BeautifulTulips · 08/10/2021 22:43

It looks like a feint positive to me, very similar to my DD's today, took her for a PCR test and awaiting results

Abigail12345654321 · 08/10/2021 22:47

@Iwannabelikeyouohh

“Higher risk” and “great risk” are very different things.

Yes you are at higher risk than someone your age with a BMI of 20. But that doesn’t mean you are at great risk. It is vastly more likely that you will have a mild dose and recover.

Of course you feel anxious but keep reminding yourself that you really are not at great risk.

Iwannabelikeyouohh · 08/10/2021 22:48

Do I sleep separately from DH? Should I try to avoid him?

I feel physically sick. Im so frightened.

OP posts:
Strangevipers · 08/10/2021 22:49

If you are negative I would try and spears yourself as much as possible - sleeping, bathrooms , towels etc

MrsLCSofLichfield · 08/10/2021 22:52

I also think that test is negative.

Libraryghost · 08/10/2021 22:54

Oh op. You sound so anxious, Do you generally have health anxiety or is it just covid you are worried about. Honestly all you need to do is take precautions exactly the same as you would if your DH had flu but if you get it you are not going to die. You are vaccinated. You might have an aeroplane land on your house tonight and that kills you but it’s unlikely isn’t it? Try to clam down and argue against your own ‘logic’ with facts.
