Anyone's (non-vulnerable) 12-15 year old been offered a vaccine yet?

Just curious how the rollout is going. We've not heard anything in schools local to me, but it does seem to have started in some parts of the country.

My DCs school are being done early October

DD (12) is having hers on the 1st, with the flu jab at school. Letter came out beginning of this week by email, consent form online too. So much easier!

North Hampshire. DS's secondary are doing them next Thursday and Friday.

Gherkingreen · 24/09/2021 17:05

DS 15 currently had covid so is isolating but we haven't had anything from school about the vacc. He'd have to wait another month anyway I guess.
He's due to have nasal flu vacc mid Oct tho which I presume can still go ahead.
Wonder if those who can't have the vacc on school due to having had covid will be offered it out of school after 28 days?

Heard nothing here. Wonder if the Scottish drop-in centres need a proof of residency in Scotland?

MsAwesomeDragon · 24/09/2021 17:12

We had consent forms sent out to all children aged 12-15 by dd's school. Then a follow up email reminding parents that the consent forms need to be in by Monday if they are going to get the jab at school.

BeautifulTulips · 24/09/2021 18:40

Mine have had theirs today

zafferana · 24/09/2021 18:45

We've been told 1st Oct. The online consent form crashed though and they now have to send out paper copies, so I'm not sure if that will affect the date ...

Odd that there’s total silence from some schools then. Are they obliged to take part in this?

Yes, it will depend on NHS rollout. Schools have to wait to hear from them because they send permission forms
DorotheaDiamond · 25/09/2021 07:49

@KingsleyShacklebolt just the person I need…do you know if it’s possible for an English child to be vaccinated in Scotland? Or do you need to provide proof of a Scottish gp? Does the jab get registered against the nhs number (and do you have the same nhs app as in England)? No sign of it happening in school any time soon…

It seems to be being done county by county. So some counties have had the green light to start immediately and others will presumably be in the coming days/weeks.
