Going for second dose this week. Husband was not well after his second dose. And I've realised I am now spending a lot of time worrying about it! What have peoples experiences been? I had an incredibly sore arm after the first one. And then ten days after got a rash at the injection site. 😔

I was really shattered and bit poorly after my 1st. After my second it was broadly similar but not as bad.
Most people I know anecdotally had side effects less bad second time but the actual effects vary wildly.

DD and all her classmates had Moderna and almost all had 2 days of temperature after the second dose. Nothing major, not dangerously high, but it was pretty widespread zonking out. She had it Thursday, by Saturday was fine again.

Had Moderna both times, absolutely no side effects whatsoever apart from tender arm.

Thanks all. DH had to go to bed the day after his. Very hot. And a headache that lingered for a few days. Just dreading it!

DD had a temp after her second dose and the shivers. She was fine after a nights sleep. My dad and brother and zero effects after their second Moderna.

Fine really, felt a bit lethargic the next day but that was it.

Sore arm for both, for about 24 hours. No other symptoms of anything.

Had a temp and sore arm after my second and my periods overriding my contraceptive which is joyous too.

I had some flu-like symptoms - temperature, tiredness, generally a bit achey. I had my vaccine on a Friday morning and had a quiet weekend watching Netflix and had a take away, but was absolutely back to normal by Monday morning. Anecdotally a lot of people I know had similar experiences so they felt quite unwell for a short time but then it went. You can take paracetamol if you get side effects.

DH got a rash and was ill in bed for two days after the second dose - we were both fine after the first, just a sore arm each. For me I was tired the days after my second but not ill.

I had the arm rash after both injections. It came up a week after the first one, but just a couple of days after the second.
I also had aches and pains and felt quite unwell after the second one but those side effects lasted less than a full day.

I felt slightly achey the day after mine. Just that sort of tingly sensitive skin sensation and a bit tired/like I was coming down with something. Carried on working (from home) all day though, and was completely fine again the next day.

Like you, I had a sore arm after my first Moderna shot, and the rash ten days after.

After my second, my arm was a bit sorer, and I was more tired than usual for a couple of days, but nothing to write home about. No rash the second time.

I had my second shot around noon on a Friday, and by around 10 that night came down pretty suddenly with a bad headache and a pretty high fever. Felt rough most of Saturday, and then woke up Sunday completely fine. So even if you do have some symptoms afterwards, they seem to dissipate pretty quickly.

No reaction at all to #1, felt like I had a mild hangover for one day with #2. DH had almost exactly the same with his two Pfizers.

I had Moderna. With the 1st jab I had a sore arm and felt hungover the next day. With the 2nd shot, 11 hours after I got it, I developed a bad headache and was really nauseous for about 4 hours and then it was gone as though someone flipped a switch. I was perfectly fine after that.

I've had COVID. Unwell with chills, fever and aches from 1st jab. 2nd I had similar but not as bad. Friends who haven't had COVID were fine after their 1st (aside from usual sore arm) but ill after the 2nd.

I was way more poorly from the jab than COVID, only had a headache with COVID!

Sore arm and felt a bit sick after 1st and after 2nd arm less sore than 1st and slightly worn out (honestly if I wasn't over thinking it, I wouldn't have even noticed)

This pretty much sums up my experience of getting the moderna vaccine. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be at all.

My arm was less sore the second time, but I felt a bit headachey and tired for the following two days. I took paracetamol before I went, and every five hours which I think helped.

My period has vanished completely though. It's been 60 days!

I was really rough after both doses but even more so after my 2nd. Hit me about 24 hours after and lasted about 24hrs. It came and went pretty quickly but prepare to have a day on the sofa feeling sorry for yourself
