Do they think our kids are stupid?

Just that, they have been told for months to stay safe, give up everything to not catch covid etc now we are sending them into school when their friends have covid and they have been in close contact and they are supposed to just OK that's fine. How stupid do the government think they are?

I have chronic health issues but not considered CEV so no child vaccine and she doesn't want to go in catch it and bring it home but I have just had to send her in anyway. Shes saying it's stupid and she's right but it's going to get worse in the next week or so and I'm saving keeping her off until I absolutely have to.

Why oh why didn't they vaccinate over the summer?

It's inevitable now that she will catch it and give it to me, if it does set me back she will blame herself

The whole thing is shit

And before people start saying it's the new normal, what more do you want etc I want close contacts to PCR and stay home until results come through and children have been vaccinated.
There is no hope of tracking it now

You’re right.
Approved vaccines ought to be available to everyone who wants them.

Heard on the news today that Pfizer has been approved in the US for 5 years plus. Hopefully, won’t be too much longer here.

@MarshaBradyo

Maybe UK goverment should actually read about it, and act about it.

You would prefer the government to decide not JCVI informing first?

Why would you want government to read up instead. Totally nuts.

The JCVI is part of the organisations that rule this country. They do take decissions for the whole of the population, as they are appointed to this. They advice the government. But never mind. Let's keep just getting everywhere late. Whether is my team, your team, or the neighbours team! Just drift around without purpose. It seems to work. There are a long long list of people here who seem to love it!

So you think the JCVI are doing it wrong? Apply if you think you can help them out

They were early on over 65 and still people moaned.

I do not qualify Marsha.
I cannot change my mind and the science from one month to another.
Or say A, and then do B 5 minutes before the deadline.

The Us hasn’t approved a vaccine for 5-11 a pharmacy company has issued a press release on a study that is not the same thing!

Raighoflight · 21/09/2021 22:23

@itsgrand

have you had your two vaccines though? If so what is the worry? The world has to go on, we can't shut down everything again, I know you have health issues but we just can't.
Nowhere has she said she wants everything to shut again. Stop being so binary and putting words in people’s mouth.

My husband and I caught it from our primary school child who was really ill. It beat both our double vaccines. Husband very ill and now I too. Breathing is so hard for me

Raighoflight · 21/09/2021 22:25

And I’m far from the only double Vaxed this has happened to this month. The cev are within their rights to worry.

Raighoflight · 21/09/2021 22:27

@Watapalava

OP your child is not cev from your post

You are

You are double vax

So whats the issue? She doesn't need the vaccine to protect you as youve had it

I’m not sure if you understand this but not all cev are fully protected by the vaccine.

I’m supposed to be protected by it. Still very ill can’t breathe. Husband very ill too.

HairyToity · 21/09/2021 22:34

My kids have had covid, and we're now past caring about covid. I'm glad they don't have to self isolate anymore. All vulnerable people should now get the vaccine, and any extra doses. At some point people have to take their chances with covid.

Raighoflight · 21/09/2021 22:46

What a selfish and ignorant comment.

Ugzbugz · 21/09/2021 23:01

I don't think lunch bubbles would make any difference as they all socialise out of school etc and transport and in schools with 2k kids etc its not feasible.

Bizawit · 21/09/2021 23:29

OP isn’t CEV though. Sorry to hear you have covid and are struggling! Hope you feel better soon. Flowers
