Is there less health anxiety about getting the jab?

I used to see a lot of posts about the side effects of the jab, anxiety about getting it and so on. Now I see virtually none. Are most posters less worried now that so many have got it with minimal side effects? I assume so, which is great.

Surely very few people in the MN age demographic will be having the vaccine this week- either dose. Hence very few people will be posting to agonise about it. My teenager had her second dose weeks ago.

I agree with the poster above - parent-age people have either had it, or opted not to by now.

AlexaShutUp · 16/09/2021 06:57

Yes, most MNers will have already had the jab if they're going to have it at all. The ones who aren't having it have mostly made up their minds already, I guess.

True of course. It is just nice to not see so many side effects threads. Gives me this feeling of progress.

Wait til boosters for >50s and kids' jabs start! Then it will be back.

@MareofBeasttown I’m due my second dose in a couple of weeks and I’m anxious- mainly due to the heart issues but more and more it’s becoming a subject no one talks about or one is looked at not very favourably to mention anything about the vaccines.

I’m not anti vaccine but I’m still very scared

And this thread has a few posters in the same boat

I’m still very anxious about getting vaccinated. Was all for going to get my first dose on Saturday but the closer it gets the more worried I’m getting and I don’t know if I’ll go through with it or not

Oh FFS there's no scaremongering thread, so you thought you'd whip up a bit of a frenzy.

But Covid also causes heart issues. A friend had Covid in October 2020, she wasn't ill enough to go to hospital but it left her with an irregular heartbeat. The doctors decided to leave it a while to see if it settled but she is now waiting for a pacemaker to be fitted. She is 49 years old.

Not my intention. If you see my other posts on here you will see I am extremely pro vaxx. However, you are right that this thread was probably unwise..Won't continue it.

There’s quite a few threads about kids having the vaccine now as that’s about to happen. And on those threads there’s many parents who feel anxious about it, along with those who can’t wait to get to get their kids vaccinated. Similar discussions, different age group with the added consent issue.

pontypridd · 16/09/2021 10:15

My health anxiety is now about having had the jab.

I took a long time deliberating whether to get it. Finally gave in. Now I'm doubly worried. Worried about the effects of the jab (which are still ongoing) and worried about catching Covid.

I wish I'd just stuck with one set of worries and not been jabbed.

Cornettoninja · 16/09/2021 12:40

I’d say that most of the demographic of MN have made their choice now but I suspect that @lannistunut is right.
