Faint positive on LFT?

Will attach, but this came up within the 30-40 minute window. I can definitely see something as well as DP.

DS has been very unwell this week and is currently waiting for his PCR results.

Have already booked a PCR just in case as I've heard that you can get faint positives on LFT and as I was slightly over the window of checking. I have some more LFT coming for DP as that was the last one

Have a very slight temperature. Am double vaccinated.

Can anyone else see anything or is it a repeat of my squinty eye pregnancy phase

Also worth noting we've had a massive increase in cases in this area too

Hmm maybe something on the first one... get a pcr to be sure .

Fair point, but was wondering if I was going mad or not. Plus whether false positives are regular.

To be honest I've only come across false negatives so far. Wait on your PCR if there's any hint of a suspicion clinically (and you sound symptomatic) or from your lat flow.

I cant see it, but they dont photo well.
PCR is the right course of action if you have symptoms or a positive LFT.

I can see it in the pics, faint but still there. I've had similar on 2 separate occasions but the pcrs were negative.
A colleague tested positive last week on her PCR yet her lfds were negative, even this week they are still showing negative.
I'm now sceptical about lfds.

Thanks all. Done the PCR and sent off so will wait and see. Don't feel particularly unwell and temperature is normal (for me) today so suspect it's a false positive but we shall see!

Oh no - let us know how you get on. I have just recovered from Covid and now my eldest son has come up with a faint positive on LFT (my husband couldn’t see the line) so have just had to book a PCR. It feels never ending…

Sorry to derail thread but has anyone got a faint positive d LFT and no symptoms and got a positive PCR? DS has no symptoms..

Faint positive on LFT, close contact, no symptoms.
6 hrs later, raging temperature. PCR taken at that point, and confirmed covid.
Temp remained. Lost sense if smell for about 24 hrs, sore throat (survived on paracetamol, tomato soup and boiled sweets for about a week).

My son did a routine LFT for school and it came up positive. He had no symptoms so I thought it would be a false positive. It wasn't, his PCR confirmed he had Covid.

Dd has two negatives then faint line, she's positive on pcr

She's been done really her temp was gently bouncing up a degree nothing major and seems more tired.
Up and doing her usual stuff though, I'm praying this gives her some anti bodies to get through winter proper.

Lateral flows depend on the amount of viral load, how they are done.

Mine was like that.
LFT the next day was a strong positive.

Mine has come up this morning faint positive I’ve had a test and await results. My sinus’ feel a bit off so preparing for the positive result. Otherwise I feel okay. Gonna be a bugger as had a hospital appointment about my pregnancy booked Monday but glad I’ll know beforehand.

Fingers crossed @sociallydistained. I spoke to my doctor friend and she said that 1% are wrong so there is always that chance and 1% isn’t zero…

I think there is a very faint line there, to me anyway.

Maybe but hard to tell. As long as you’ve booked a pcr you’ll find out soon enough

I'm like this with LFTs too. I swear I'm so conditioned from my TTC days that I get a secret thrill from watching them develop and nearly hope I see a second line on them

I've had several faint lines on my Lateral flows in the last couple of months all of which confirmed Negative with a PCR.
