Good news. As some of us predicted, the JCVI has changed its mind.
This is behind a paywall, but I read the whole article on Twitter ( which I can't seem to paste here).

Anyway, the headline is self-explanatory.

Yup to pps about Dingwall.

Beyond anything else he's a sociologist who has no business advising the government on the risk/benefits of vaccinating children (or signing the GBD). He has no experience or expertise in these area.

My 16 year old was done today as a drop in where I was volunteering. They would have accepted any 16 or 17 year old but must not have advertised it as there was only one other while I was there for my 2 hrs and a bit. They said they needed vaccinators with some paediatric qualifications and they had two there this morning so it was ok. I imagine that’s why some centres can’t do it. Worth an ask though.

This was an English GP led centre.

To be fair to other sociologists, Dingbats background is in medical sociology and ethics, a recognised field. Doesn't stop him from being a pillock though.

Anecdotally my local drop in centre is vaccinating 16 and 17 year olds.

But this is not publicised at all, so I am loathe to take my teen up there on the off chance. The "official" guidance locally is that you should wait for your GP to get in contact.
