My point was this hyper awareness of every single thing. So if I had a temp that lasted 30 minutes should I get a PCR test? I don't know anyone in real life who would ever do this!
I actually do agree with you, I think everyone jumping to test at every little thing is ridiculous but when I had covid I literally had a temp of 38.7 for about 20 minutes and never again. Just a wicked sore throat and tiredness (and mine would have been the good old fashioned Kent variant)
So really, unless we test constantly for every little thing we wont catch every case and it's just not feasible to do that.
For example, I get hayfever and have asthma. Its not unusual in hayfever season for me to lose my sense of taste and smell, I wouldn't test as I've had it for as long as I can remember.
Also, during my period my temp raises a good 2-2.5 degrees, again why would I test if that's my norm?
Testing for a symptom is one thing, but I think folk have forgotten how to stand back and look at things with logic. Doesnt delta present like a cold? Are we testing cold symptoms as well now??
Where does it end??
