After all these months of misery, thousands of people dying etc, turns out all we needed was for our wise, glorious and stylish Prime Minister to announce that it's all over and now just like that it will be. Tomorrow is going to be like D Day, the moon landings and the fall of the Berlin Wall all rolled into one, and it's all thanks to Boris. Hurrah!

Boris, turn off the internet and go to bed, there’s a good boy.

PurpleDaisies · 18/07/2021 22:20

Hi Carrie.

3peassuit · 18/07/2021 22:21

Surely you jest.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 18/07/2021 22:22

Think some people are missing the sarcasm.

doodlejump1980 · 18/07/2021 22:22

Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Tealightsandd · 18/07/2021 22:24

Just like magic.

Perhaps if there's a press conference tomorrow, Boris will jump out from behind some curtains, wave a wand, shout abracadabra. And boom! Covid gone.

I mean he’s done a spiffing job with getting all the things sorted for tomorrow. He’s managed to rid the country of the plague if Covid, given a smooth Brexit exit, filled all the gaps in funding and staff in the nhs, rid the country of racism and poverty…. I mean how can he have time to eat, drink and loaf
around when he’s making such good decisions and spending so much time on each one. Honestly, how he had time to retract his “ I’m not isolating- I’m special “ message is beyond me. Clearly he is underestimated by sooo many people 🤨

CrouchEndTiger12 · 18/07/2021 22:36

He’s managed to rid the country of the plague if Covid

WTAF?!

You think he could do this? He isn't God.

Flu is still around over 100 years after the 1918 pandemic. Viruses are going to virus.

You don't seriously want to live with restrictions forever do you?

Orchidflower1 · 19/07/2021 06:00

@CrouchEndTiger12

Read the room/ op/ thread

SaRcaSAm- didn’t do the mix of cases as it’s hard to read and SURELY nobody thinks he’s ACTUALLY done those things!!!

Of course he isn’t God- don’t be facetious.

CrouchEndTiger12 · 19/07/2021 06:05

I know it is sarcasm ffs you're the one who didn't get what I meant.

Sarcastically thanking Boris for getting rid of covid when he quite clearly hasn't and is opening the country. I got that ThAnkS Hmm

The point was people are needling Boris for not getting rid of covid.

My point was how could he get rid of covid anyway? Australia still can't keep it out. It still gets in.

Viruses gonna virus...

Go down to the shore and ask the tide to stop coming in. Jesus christ I despair of some people

How, precisely, has he done a great job?
travellinglighter · 19/07/2021 06:39

@Whinginadeville

You can’t say it because it isn’t true and if you think so you have forgotten.

unwuthering · 19/07/2021 06:54

Australia still can't keep it out. It still gets in.

Yes, an outbreak of several hundred cases after a leak from hotel quarantine. Daily cases below one hundred.

Meanwhile, 50,000 odd cases per day before 'Freedom Day' even begins the massive upswing. Like in the Netherlands, where infections apparently increased more than 500% in a week after restrictions were lifted too fast - and were then reinstated.

Viruses gonna virus...

Well, yes. If left unchecked, they will also create variants that are many times more contagious, like the Delta, and may prove to be vaccine resistant. Good times!

MarshaBradyo · 19/07/2021 07:05

Op is being funny. Well trying for sarcasm

unwuthering · 19/07/2021 07:19

Yes. But never miss an opportunity to point out Australia or New Zealand's certain future covid doom/comeuppance... like it's some weird competition.

Makes me almost miss the days of But Sweden! But Sweden...

Oh and great, comprehensive list travellinglight

bonfireheart · 19/07/2021 07:37

Oh @travellinglighter we should all collectively help you complete that list.
And the person who said he has done a great job can also do their list too.

Schulte · 19/07/2021 07:46

Brilliant list @travellinglighter!

newnortherner111 · 19/07/2021 08:00

@travellinglighter you missed the last significant mistake. Not putting India on the red travel list at the same time as Pakistan and Bangladesh.

cherin · 19/07/2021 08:03

But in the meantime he’s done all the dressing up he clearly wasn’t allowed as a child. He’s been Bob the builder gazillion times, but to prove he’s not only into hard hat he’s also donned butcher’s apron, lab technician, bricklayer, and an pretty sure he drove a forklift on a factory aisle.

His mum must be so proud!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 19/07/2021 08:08

great job indeed.

no wonder so many babies are being named after him
