CEV and "Freedom Day"

I'm CEV for a number of reasons and work in a school and have my own school age children.

The thought of cases being so high, without mitigation and opening everything up tomorrow is making me wonder if I ought to be self shielding again. There's no advice I can find - everything is just "be careful" and "work from home where you can".... except I can't - I'm in school. Now there is no official shielding I can't just work from home as there's no official backing.

I have had Covid already and it was not a pretty sight and I am lucky to still be here. What the heck are CEV people meant to do? Obviously different for everyone but if anyone is in a similar position, what are you going to do?

Thank you.

See for other stuff I had things I could do
Like I have rescue antibiotics at home (no use for covid) because my "weak spot" is my throat and chest
Norovirus I've had before and was fine, I have a stomach of steel despite being immunocompromised
Other stuff well, the doctors know what works and how to treat it. If I get covid and then pneumonia, I can't fight bacterial infections as at risk of neutropenic sepsis

DH is CEV and double-jabbed he takes immunosuppressants so we are a bit worried. DS is CV (previously assessed as CEV) but much too young to be jabbed.

Cases are jumping up locally so I think we will continue to be outside as much as possible and steer clear of things like soft play.

For those asking sarcastic questions about what the immunosuppressed did before COVID - DH gets ill a lot and he is offered the flu and pneumococcal vaccinations as he is at higher risk. He also has the same restrictions as someone who is pregnant (no pate etc) as he is at higher risk of food poisoning. COVID is a lot more serious than other viruses, and is circulating freely in the community. He was advised by to shield for a reason

My friend is extremely CEV, double vacced but no response. He has to inject twice weekly to sustain immune system. I don't know how to help him. He can WFH for now, but it will get harder for him.

Is anything even changing today? Seems like shops and bus companies still want people to wear masks and social distance. I'd say there were a few less people wearing masks in my local bus station today but not a huge change.

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch Is that gin in your previous post to me? Let's crack it open and have a CEV socially distanced party!

@NotMyCat Those photos! I'm unsurprised though.

@AshGirl Envy soft play at any time!Envy I'm staying well clear of those plastic balls of doom!

@Obakarama I am sorry to hear about your friend. That is really tough. It's nice to hear how you want to support them 😊

Hideous. Who’d even want to do that without Covid never mind as numbers are rising so fast.
