Laughing stock of the world... Pair of clowns, all the hype before freedom day & look at where the two of them end up...

The only good that can come out of this is that the government will actually crumble in the chaos and disappear in the ensuing dust.

ilovesooty · 18/07/2021 12:11

They won't. They know they're untouchable.

Dustyboots · 18/07/2021 12:16

Actually - I don’t think that is true anymore. I’ve got a gut feeling which I trust is right ...

DoucheCanoe · 18/07/2021 12:19

Except they don't have to isolate because they're part of a "pilot" scheme.

In the words of Karen Dunbar - "I smell shite".

ilovesooty · 18/07/2021 12:20

The next election isn't until 2024. They have an 80 seat majority. If there was an immediate general election they'd probably still win it. Johnson has always believed he can do what he likes and unfortunately he's right.

BluebellsGreenbells · 18/07/2021 12:21

They have chosen the pilot scheme to test daily which allows them to go out and about but both will be ‘working from home’ in Downing Street anyway

Homeontherangeuk · 18/07/2021 12:26

No they have done a u turn in the past hour & have now agreed to isolate... One honestly could not make this shot up..

Ah nevermind, I see they've decided to join the rest of us plebs and isolate instead 🤔

MushMonster · 18/07/2021 12:31

I was about to write that there is another thread saying they are going for daily tests!
I think it is a good example.
One isolates if one is a close contact.
If not, no need. To be honest, I am fed up of the whole year groups been sent home. This makes sense with high cases, so high risk. But mine had to isolate while cases were really low, even with LFT and PCR negatives. And it makes no sense!

LAlady · 18/07/2021 12:32

"Actually - I don’t think that is true anymore. I’ve got a gut feeling which I trust is right"

I do too - heard a member of the 1922 committee this morning and it certainly wasn't a ringing endorsement of the 🤡 in charge. Tories are renowned for back stabbing and ousting leaders

Grellbunt · 18/07/2021 12:33

If they're fully jabbed and Boris has had it then what's the big deal?

tenredthings · 18/07/2021 12:39

Lots of people will delete the app now. The cynic in me says this us what the Government wants anyway. All the pinging is trashing the economy and let's face it, this bunch of sociopaths don't give a shit about the nations health. They also have an agenda to see the NHS fail in order to Justify its privatisation. It all appears shambolic but there's strategists and manipulators working behind the scenes.

DoucheCanoe · 18/07/2021 12:43

@Grellbunt, they expect everyone else to do it - being fully vaccinated and medical history haven't stopped the general population being forced to stay home from work (sometimes leading to massive financial hardship), miss family holidays and/or not seeing loved ones so why shouldn't they?

The system has been a shambles from the beginning but the rules should apply to everyone.

LucilleTheVampireBat · 18/07/2021 12:48

"Laughing stock of the world" - really?

I keep reading variations of this. Do people really think anyone is sitting at home in Germany or Poland or America or Egypt and "laughing" at the UK? It's such a bizarre statement.

roses2 · 18/07/2021 12:48

Good, I’m glad they’ve done a uturn. I also hope they both get COVID (again).

Clutterbugsmum · 18/07/2021 12:53

The big deal is that once again they are doing what they like, while demanding everyone else follows the rules they put in place.

If they really want the general public to continue to follow the isolation rules then they need to behaviour better then us. They have only agreed to self isolate because they have been made to by public opinion.

If we carry on as we are then in a week or so we are going to see a real affect on our lives. Because you will start seeing shortages in shops because warehouses, delivery drivers and shop workers are isolating so there will be staff shortages.

Well they are actually!
DoucheCanoe · 18/07/2021 12:59

Plenty of people around the world laughed at some of the shit Trump got up to in his time at the White House.

It's not unreasonable to think that our current state of affairs are any different given Boris insistence that the UK government knows how to handle the pandemic better than every where else apparently.

Yes family in Ireland are laughing their socks off! Lots of fb & twitter retweets about our pair of idiots! Their not the only ones, a French friend whatsapp to say it's like a bad April fools joke...

I’m puzzled as to why people who catch covid are judged so harshly. It’s a virus. It’s virulent. Most people catch it whilst getting on with their lives and not doing anything more risky than going to work and the supermarket. It’s hardly a huge moral failing.

The friends I have in different countries in Europe are bemused at how he actually became PM and how the UK could have voted for this current government.

Well those rules are stupid then!

x2boys · 18/07/2021 13:14

I bet they aren't @Grellbunt there are massive floods in parts of Europe right now that has caused massive destruction and at least 180 deaths, I doubt people care what's going on in the UK we are not that important.

Well I am here and I know the reaction I get when people hear that I am British. I also follow social media and radio in several different languages and can see what is being said so I know based on concrete evidence.
