2nd AZ jab Friday morning the worst headache of my life since should I be concerned?

As title says 2nd AZ jab 8am Friday since mid afternoon Friday I’ve had the worst migraine/headache I’ve ever experienced. I can barely lift my head off the pillow because of the pain, vomiting and head feels like someone has taken a hammer to the back and top of my head continuously. I also have neck pain and a bit of neck stiffness, I am worried about blood clots but everything online says the headache for that starts after 4 days. I have taken 2 30mg codiene 500mg paracetamol prescriptions tablets every 4 hours and they are not touching it.

I had my first jab a couple of weeks ago, day 8 I got the absolute worst migraine of my life. I have two children under 5, spent the day on the sofa, barely able to lift my head, blurry vision, vomited many times, literally felt I was dying from the pain, somehow, god knows how, managed to get through the day, had to put kids to bed straight after their tea, felt absolutely beyond guilty they’d had such a bad day. Thought if it continued the next day I’d phone 111 or an actual ambulance it felt so bad. Next day I was absolutely fine. But now increasingly worried about my second jab!!

I don’t think 999 would be overdoing it, with those symptoms.

Hope you got through and you are ok. Sounds awful. Hope they sort you out. You have done the right thing.

If you are prone to migraines, it may just have aggravated that.

Hope you are ok and have called 999.

Hi all, My dd rang 111 and they sent an ambulance. Currently waiting for a bed on the ward, will update in the morning as quite woozy from the pain and the drugs. Thank you all for reassuring me I wasn’t over reacting

You poor thing, so glad you’re getting checked. I had a horrific headache the morning after my first jab but nowhere near as bad as you’re describing. Definitely needs to be checked.

Afternoon, thank you to everyone that encouraged me to get checked out, I will be staying in for a few days as have some swelling which is causing the headache and other symptoms.

I had an atrocious migraine out of the blue a few weeks after my second AZ jab. Woke up with it, had to call my neighbour and ask her to bring me some migraine tablets up to my bed...it gradually eased over the day and by early evening I felt able to shower and eat something small. The next day I was wiped out but migraine had gone.

I am glad you went into hospital, OP, and hope you feel better soon.

I’m glad you’re in the right place @JacketSpud55 - do they think it’s vaccine related? And have they ruled out blood clots? Rest up and feel better soon.
