How long after vaccine did your side effects start

Hi,

I've had my first dose today and I'm very anxious about getting ill from it. When did you're side effects start was it straight away or later on

I had AZ and side effects (shivering) started about 8 hours after first dose.

I had it at midday and the next morning I had a temp and generally a bit blah but was fine the next day. The achy arm lasted a few days though. Had second today and my arms a bit sore but nothing else so far.

2-4 hours (not sure if my headache was vaccine related or aresholes with blinding headlights related).

I had the AZ and no real side effects except for the (not very) aching arm.

Had AZ. Started feeling ill about 20 hours after first jab, quicker after 2nd and arm hurt straightaway with 2nd.

If you are having yours now, you may be a lot younger than me and having Pfizer. My 3 children aged 18 to 23 had the Pfizer this week. No illness. Sore arm started a few hours after jab and lasted about a day.

Husband had mild headache and very tired the evening after having his first only

az...had mine at 10 am. woke up about 3 am next day feeling rough. felt better day after

I had AZ and side effects (shivering) started about 8 hours after first dose.
Same for me - 8 hours after too, and uncontrollable shivering. Really rough night but the next day it was like a switch was flicked and I felt totally normal again.

AZ here, slight achy arm for the first 24hrs after first jab, just had 2nd on Wednesday, no side affects at all, not everyone suffers so you could be one of the lucky ones!

Had mine yesterday afternoon, by 8pm snotty nose and sore throat and i was in bed, felt like shit all day, aches, headaches, the runniest nose known to man, lethargic, so tired yet can't sleep. Hoping its better tomorrow.

Ah okay, it looks like the sickness comes on quite quickly then. I feel a bit groggy and achy but I've spent the afternoon at a farm running after children so could be that

About 8 hours for me. Same for DS. DD had no side effects at all, either time.

Next day - felt very tired and a bit achey. Over in 24 hours.

I had Moderna. Had almost no side effects, apart from a sore arm that started later that day and lasted about 48 hours. I didn't feel even the slightest bit unwell in myself.

Two months and still waiting, why do you assume everyone gets side effects?

I had AZ at 3pm. All fine that evening. Woke in the morning with a mega headache. Took paracetamol and went back to sleep for a couple of hours. No problem whatsoever after that. No headache or any other symptoms after 2nd jab.

Tiredness about 3 hours later.

Feeling like I was dying 12 hours later.

Pfizer, bang on 12hours later, fever and chills, paracetamol fixed me.

Ist dose pfeizer I had a headache and tiredness around 6hrs after. Resolved after 36hrs
2nd dose fine till 24 hrs after than I had a temperature and shivering. Lasted a few hours

Same here, I thought I'd got away with side effects! I had the jab at 10 in the morning and by 6 in the evening I had chills and fever, DH had ZERO side effects...lucky sod!

Never as I didn’t get any. It’s not a given you will, so try not to worry too much about it. I had a slightly bruised feeling arm but actually less than I did for my whooping cough or flu.

Pfizer. Few aches and pains within half an hour of the jab. Had it at 9.00 and by about 8pm was feeling very tired. Slept pretty much through and as okay but a bit woozy the next day.

Moderna. No side effects after first dose. Started feeling achy and tired 12 hours after the second.

I had Pfizer. My arm was sore the same evening and lasted two days. It was much better when I kept it moving. I had a headache the next day for 24 hours but very mild and paracetamol got rid. I got Covid Arm on day 8 but that was gone within 48 hours. At no point was I poorly, just a couple of niggles. The only person I know who has been poorly has an autoimmune condition.
