I work in education. We had a bubble close last week due to a positive case. They are not due back from isolation til tues.

I've just seen on social media that one member of staff included in that bubble has posted about a lovely day out.

Would you do anything with that information or leave it?

I’d be very tempted to inform PH or the police. Don’t know if I would though

SmidgenofaPigeon · 04/07/2021 00:35

I would do fuck all.

TreaslakeandBack · 04/07/2021 00:37

No, what a horrible thing to do.
Also sometimes staff aren’t included in the bubble, the rules on this are complicated. Mind your own business

BritWifeInUSA · 04/07/2021 00:46

I’d mind my own business.

OliveTree75 · 04/07/2021 00:49

I would just pretend I hadn't seen it and mind my own business.

Foobydoo · 04/07/2021 00:54

I wouldn't and I have stuck to the rules 100%. I have CEV close family though so it is in my interest. I can emphasise with the other side though so wouldn't dream of reporting them although I would be privately cross.

PumpkinKlNG · 04/07/2021 01:08

Nope

blahblahblah321 · 04/07/2021 01:14

I'd be annoyed with the person - would feel different if the outing was an emergency - but I wouldn't say anything to anyone

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 04/07/2021 01:16

I'd wonder about their common sense in putting it on sm.

GreenTeaBlackCoffeeAndRedWine · 04/07/2021 01:19

No I'd say nothing. Got better things to do with my time tbh.

That's a good point Grin
RoseRedRoseBlue · 04/07/2021 01:25

If you are that worried, address it with the colleague direct. I can’t believe someone is advocating Police 😂

Maggiesfarm · 04/07/2021 01:34

No, I would not tell tales on anyone about something like that. The person was stupid to post about the day out on social media but I suppose, in theory, it is possible to go out without mixing with others you don't know.

The police 😂😂😂

Have you seen what's gone on in Central London tonight? Get a grip

Wheresmybiscuit3 · 04/07/2021 02:30

@stevalnamechanger what’s happened? I’ve just looked at the news and can’t find anything on the BBC. Something to do with the football?

ColettesEarrings · 04/07/2021 05:18

I'd probably tell the head, and I'd never quite regard the person in the same way again.

Was the member of staff asked to isolate? I ask because although I've taught several positive cases this year, including a couple from my front row, for some reason it hasn't been considered necessary for me to isolate at all.

girlmom21 · 04/07/2021 06:50

I wouldn't report it

StrongLegs · 04/07/2021 06:57

I think you should ask her direct, otherwise you will always be thinking that she is an idiot and there may be an entirely sensible explanation. It's a shame to spoil your relationship for the want of just asking. Good luck :-)

ninja · 04/07/2021 09:26

She could be on the trial where you have a lateral flow test every day instead of self isolating - a few of my friends have been on that

PH or the school.
BoomChicka · 04/07/2021 09:55

If it was my school specifically, I might email the school, but only because they send us emails threatening fines if an isolating child is seen playing out or walking the dog. What's good for the goose and all that..

Geamhradh · 04/07/2021 10:34

The thread yesterday where someone came to work with a cough and then their manager told everyone they'd done a test and didn't need to isolate had MN advising the SWAT teams, SAS abseiling into the building in full hazmat and the FBI and Mossad on hand in case the person continued to "break the rules".

MN is, as ever, utterly bonkers.

Chillychangchoo · 04/07/2021 10:36

I wouldn’t do anything other than save the photos so that if anyone got wind of our isolation days out, I could present them to the head 🤣.
