runny nose and sore throat now added to list of symptoms for Delta variant.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 01/07/2021 16:43

But that could equally be hayfever. Or a cold. I reckon most people will just ignore those symptoms

PurpleDaisies · 01/07/2021 16:43

Officially or just you?
TheVampiresWife · 01/07/2021 16:45

This isn't new is it?

I have a runny nose and scratchy throat every day because of hay fever!

Albien · 01/07/2021 16:46

Says who?

PurpleDaisies · 01/07/2021 16:47

Don’t you just live vague threads like this with no source for supposedly new and helpful information? Hmm

OliveTree75 · 01/07/2021 16:52

Is this actually official? We have been looking at work today

Cornettoninja · 01/07/2021 16:53

I know lots of scientists have called for it but have you got a link saying that it’s been officially changed?

user1471518104 · 01/07/2021 16:53

Further update. Anyone who BREATHES could fall Illand DIE from covid

HalfwomanHalfcookie · 01/07/2021 16:57

Ds has these symptoms and tested positive yesterday. He would probably have put it down to a cold or hay-fever, but one of his work colleagues tested positive the day before. I have no idea if he has the delta variant but chances are he has.

NavigationCentral · 01/07/2021 16:59

I find these sorts of OPs fascinating. A few words, in breaking news style, without links to the news item. Almost as though people fancy drawing attention to themselves. Which would be shocking as an idea of course.

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 01/07/2021 17:03

On the news today saying the list of symptoms should be updated.

DH, DD and I are all positive.

DH is the only one to lose his sense of smell/taste

DD the only one with a cough

None of us have a temperature

We do all have headache, fuzzy head, sore throat, feel really achey all over, sneezes and runny nose.

DH and I have had both jabs, DD only one as she is 18.

HalfwomanHalfcookie · 01/07/2021 17:05

I agree that the op could have perhaps added more detail or a link, but what they say is correct.

Don't think it is official. Scientists saying it should be updated.

PurpleDaisies · 01/07/2021 17:06

On the news today saying the list of symptoms should be updated.

That’s very different from what the op has said. She has said it HAS been updated. You still (officially) can’t book a PCR test without a classic main symptom.

PurpleDaisies · 01/07/2021 17:06

@HalfwomanHalfcookie

Link please?
Twistered · 01/07/2021 17:06

yes it's official. Crazy isn't it.

Here you go…
No new symptoms added.

Cornettoninja · 01/07/2021 17:08

Have you got a link @HalfwomanHalfcookie? I looked but couldn’t see anything official.

sorry I posted and then someone came in and I didn't get to add anything else. I just wonder how this is going to go for those of us with hayfever.

So add it now.
All we have is your word it is official. There is nothing official that I can see, only that some scientists think the symptoms should be updated which is not news.

Howshouldibehave · 01/07/2021 17:12

Where have you seen this? Is there a link to a source or something you’ve just heard about?!

Cornettoninja · 01/07/2021 17:13

I think it’s safe to say that there’s been no official announcement….

Twistered · 01/07/2021 17:13

NHS staff meetings have been informed this afternoon
