Has anyone managed to get second jab early?

Just that really, has anyone gone to a pop up centre before the 8 or 12 week wait limit and got your second jab early? I’m 4 weeks since first and just want to get second now and get it over with, especially with all the talk of Europe not letting us in without 2 jabs.

Sorry should have clarified that I’m in the UK

Not a pop up but my DC were called at 5 weeks by our GP.

Palavah · 29/06/2021 17:41

Google 'manage my coronavirus vaccine booking uk' and you can rebook online.

SamusIsAGirl · 29/06/2021 17:44

I've just re-booked mine for a month earlier than originally planned - don't have to miss a day of holiday instead.

Clickbait · 29/06/2021 17:45

Go on to your online vaccine booking and see if there's any availability earlier.

4PawsGood · 29/06/2021 17:45

I went to a walk in at the weekend, six days early Smile
They were taking anyone over 7 weeks from their first.

RedToothBrush · 29/06/2021 17:46

Yes. Not me but I know quite a few who have in the over 40s age group.

They had to cancel and rebook.

Blueberry40 · 29/06/2021 17:48

I was told that the pop up clinics in my area will only give the second jab if it has been at least 8 weeks since the first

Ours were, officially. But letting people in after 7 weeks.
PixieKitten · 29/06/2021 17:51

I have an invite yesterday to bring my second jab forward. Had the first about 5-6 weeks ago

cherrytrismum · 29/06/2021 17:52

On our local group. The vaccination sites were literally asking if anyone wants to come in as they had loads of no shows and they have to through it all the end of the day.

People who do not show up for NHS app, costs it thousands and I think they should start being held accountable. Oh sorry I forgot, shouldn't wash and I honestly think people should be fined if they miss appointments. Other people could have taken that space, this is the reason NHS waiting lists are so long. It's free, so it don't matter if I don't turn up, scenario's. Jokers the lot of them.

BIoodyStupidJohnson · 29/06/2021 17:52

I went to a walk-in for my second one. I did have an appointment booked for later in July but they opened up a walk-in much nearer me so I chanced it. It was almost nine weeks since my first one so they were happy to do it. (Obviously I cancelled the booked appointment once I'd been jabbed.)

TooManyPlatesInMotion · 29/06/2021 17:54

Yes. Mine was scheduled for 17 July and I had it a few days ago. There was lots of availability in my bit of SE London.

ScrambledSmegs · 29/06/2021 17:57

I got invited to have my 2nd jab precisely 6 weeks after my first, at a clinic organised by local GPs.

DH's invite came the next day, which was actually only 5 weeks after his first.

Bobholll · 29/06/2021 18:28

Yep me, my OH & a good 15 friends all had our second doses of Pfizer this weekend 5-6 weeks after our first. There were loads of walks in in our town that popped up & were jabbing anyone post 3 weeks Pfizer & 4 weeks AZ 🤷🏼‍♀️

MarshaBradyo · 29/06/2021 18:29

Yes I had a text to change booking and got one a couple of weeks earlier pretty much straight away

gigi556 · 29/06/2021 18:31

I went to a walk in center on Saturday having had my first on May 18. I didn't realize you were meant to wait 8 weeks for walk in centers. I had no problem.

gigi556 · 29/06/2021 18:32

Sorry I should have said I have a friend who got turned away at two walk in centers for being less than 8 weeks since the first so I think it depends on the area and clinic.

Cookerhood · 29/06/2021 18:58

I was vaccinating last week & we did plenty of people with 3-4 weeks since their first (Pfizer).

eurochick · 29/06/2021 19:07

I got a text inviting me to move mine forward so I did. It only made about 10 days difference but I thought I might as well. I had the second jab yesterday.

LazyHorizon · 29/06/2021 19:15

My 2nd AZ was cancelled by the NHS by text, so I rebooked an earlier slot which was at 9 weeks instead of 12. They were also taking walk ins and the guy behind me was 6 or 7 weeks from his first I think.

ufucoffee · 29/06/2021 19:17

Yes. I just went on the nhs app and booked my self in

floatingboater · 29/06/2021 19:21

Yes, I was booked in at the vaccination centre for second one and got a text from the gp three weeks earlier. I know others who cancelled their second one and rebooked once govt said they could get them done sooner.

duvets · 29/06/2021 20:49

Got my second Pfizer at a walk in site at 6 weeks.

ReadySalt · 29/06/2021 21:04

I had a look but there wasn’t any earlier availability than the 12 week slot that I have already. It’s good that you can now see appointments before cancelling.
