How long are PCR's taking now?

Just that really?

We last had one before the Indian variant reached our area and got the results back in less than 12 hours which was amazing.

DS was sent home from nursery and has had a constant temp, cough and runny nose. Me and my DM have had new sore throats with coughs.

Our area is riddled with the delta variant so we all took a PCR and have isolated together. Had our tests at 11:30 and I'm doing the anxious wait.

Ideally we have colds, I'm heavily pregnant and seem to pick up everything and anything lately. DS's nursery is a breeding ground for all kinds of germs and DM is extremely clinically vulnerable although she is fully vaccinated.

Did you wait long for your results?

30 hours - on thursday/friday - non surge testing area (if that makes a difference?). Hope yours all come back negative soon!

Jfw82 · 27/06/2021 06:51

Tested yesterday at 9am got my results by email 2am (no text message yet)

Finfintytint · 27/06/2021 06:51

Ours are less than 24 hours at the moment.

icelollycraving · 27/06/2021 06:53

31 hours this week.

Orangedaisy · 27/06/2021 06:54

11am yesterday, stil waiting. Thought I’d have something when we woke up today tbh.

RidingTheWaves · 27/06/2021 06:54

4 of us had PCR tests this week. Results came through in 14 hours, 16 hours and 20 hours.

The last result still hasn't arrived 48 hours later. Hmm

2 positive, one negative.

Ragoo · 27/06/2021 06:55

I was expecting an email through the night to be honest, we're a surge testing area so I assumed it would be quicker. It's hardly been ages, I'm just really anxious about it

Did you go to a centre or donut via post? My son and I did one on Friday, sent it off via the priority post box at 12pm (last post at 4pm) and I've still not heard back. I was hoping to hear yesterday, but fingers crossed we'll hear today.

Ragoo · 27/06/2021 06:59

@SnoozyBoozy we went to a drive through centre Smile

Also, if positive does 10 day isolation start from the day you get symptoms? So for us that would be yesterday

Orangedaisy · 27/06/2021 07:01

Ours was walk through and the box was full! We have big plans today (significant family birthday) and really hope we can go!! Know in the grand scheme it’s not big but really important to me.

RidingTheWaves · 27/06/2021 07:12

Isolation count starts from symptom day.

I'm in a surge test area. The 3 results that came back quickly were walk through, the delayed one was drive through.

Littleone638 · 27/06/2021 07:13

16 hours for us at the start of a week at a walk in centre and 36 hours for a postal test (posted an hour before collection time) I don’t know if it makes a difference but the postal one was for a department of health study, so possibly lower priority?

Ragoo · 27/06/2021 07:14

@RidingTheWaves thanks!! I've done this before so I should remember, I'm blaming baby brain Blush

Tested 11am Friday, result back at 13.20 Sat, so 26 hours

MurdockTheMouse · 27/06/2021 09:15

40 ours for me this week from a walk in. Was just in enough time to catch my train away for the weekend Grin

MurdockTheMouse · 27/06/2021 09:15

Ours = hours

BillStickersIsInnocent · 27/06/2021 09:45

About 13 hours for me yesterday, very impressive.

Birthdayhat · 27/06/2021 09:49

22 hours ish here, tested yesterday morning. Quite high rates here but not the highest.

Crunchymum · 27/06/2021 10:40

Been to the local walk-in 3 times since mid May and our tests have been 20h, 27h and 8h. Was astounded as to how fast the most recent one came back

(All negative, the kids all got a cough one after another!)

Orangedaisy · 27/06/2021 10:42

Still waiting. Refreshing email every 2 minutes. Want to go out!!!

Ragoo · 27/06/2021 10:58

I'm still waiting too, 19.5 hours here. Hopefully not too much longer

Hope you get your results soon op. It took my sons results 5 days to come through last week and were in the north west. It was absolutely shocking service as well as they wouldn't chase for us. I hope you have a better experience and start feeling better soon xxx

RidingTheWaves · 27/06/2021 12:38

Just had the drive through results - negative.

So there's 2 of us with it, 2 without.

Ragoo · 27/06/2021 14:37

Mine came through at 12:30 all negative thankfully, 20 hour wait not too bad Smile
