Would you have the jab annually if this was the only option to keep virus at bay?

Just discussing the pandemic with my DH and we were discussing vaccination. We have both been double jabbed and we were discussing if it became necessary to have it annually like the flu jab- would you have it every year?? I said yes (I had very few side effects from jab) he said no way (he felt ill for days after both jabs!). We are both in our 40's with no health conditions.

Yeah. I already have the flu jab so what’s the difference? I can’t afford to be ill.

MajesticWhine · 25/06/2021 21:39

yes I would.

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 25/06/2021 21:39

Yes.

Arcadia · 25/06/2021 21:40

Yes if I could have Pfizer each time. No side effects for me.

HeronLanyon · 25/06/2021 21:41

Of course !
If I can get yellow fever or hep c or whatever when I choose to travel (past life obvs) why on earth wouldn’t I ?

Bargebill19 · 25/06/2021 21:42

If you could choose which vaccine and if I could opt to pay and do it with the flu jab.
At the GP surgery - no.

PoppityPop · 25/06/2021 21:42

Absolutely

piglet81 · 25/06/2021 21:42

Yep. I didn’t have any side effects tho so might feel differently if that hadn’t been the case!

SandysMam · 25/06/2021 21:42

Yes. I had Covid and it was much worse than the jabs. Would much rather have the jabs than have it again. It would be good if it was just a once a year shot though rather than 2 doses.

qualitygirl · 25/06/2021 21:43

Nope

looptheloopinahulahoop · 25/06/2021 21:44

People have the flu jab. At the moment they advise 7 days inbetween but I guess they'll be able to come up with a joint jab if it's required.

user1493494961 · 25/06/2021 21:45

Yes.

MadeOfStarStuff · 25/06/2021 21:45

Absolutely. I have the flu jab every year anyway

DGFB · 25/06/2021 21:46

Yes of course. Have a vaccine and get on with life! No different to flu jab

nordica · 25/06/2021 21:47

Yes, and would be happy to pay for it too like the flu jab.

Mum2jenny · 25/06/2021 21:48

Def not, if I could only get it at gp surgery. Ive never yet had a flu jab there as I tend to get it at work. The gps never have contacted me for a flu jab ever.

FindingMeno · 25/06/2021 21:49

Yes, and gratefully.

nzborn · 25/06/2021 21:51

yes

NeverFull · 25/06/2021 21:53

Yes of course Confused

tenredthings · 25/06/2021 21:54

No

pitterp · 25/06/2021 21:55

I'm not opposed to it but I never got around to getting the flu jab most years despite being able to get a free one, so I'd probably end up not bothering unless it's free and made very convenient to do so (as convenient as the current vaccine rollout is), or if I needed to show I'd had it to access holidays/entertainment. Had very minor side effects after AZ jab so no issues with the actual vaccine.

Overthebow · 25/06/2021 21:58

Yes as long as it's easy to get appointments each year.

Geamhradh · 25/06/2021 21:59

Yes.
I've never had the flu jab.

DolphinFC · 25/06/2021 21:59

Yes.

I think a large scale annual vaccination programme is inevitable and necessary.

I wouldn't be surprised if new builders are put up just to act as vaccination centres that run all year on a rolling programme
