Not seen one of these for a while

We ate 100 per 100k, a huge increase on last week. We are in a central London borough.

267 here. Our numbers have always been on the lower end of the scale compared to other areas, in fact, we were the second lowest in the country a few weeks ago. Vaccination levels 88% 1st, 66% 2nd. Throughout it's felt like our borough has been really careful compared to when I've visited others areas, so no idea why the levels are higher now - no city in borough, a smallish university a couple of miles into next borough, but they'll use the services of that borough - no obvious drivers.

TheVampiresWife · 01/07/2021 11:39

Massive change here. From around 200/100k to almost 500/100k in the past week. Thankfully hospitalisations and deaths haven't increased much at all over the last few weeks.

LightasaBreeze · 01/07/2021 11:56

84/100,000. East Northants, 84% 1 dose, 61% 2 dose

I posted about 2 weeks ago and it was 37

Dementedswan · 01/07/2021 12:02

276 North East

PlantWitch · 01/07/2021 12:11

323 in Sunderland! Although Im not altogether surprised DH is pretty much the last man standing at his workplace currently

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 01/07/2021 13:29

13 in my US state now.

Whatever9999 · 01/07/2021 13:46

@Crunchymum

Just bumping this to see if there has been any change for anyone?

We're now 192/100k so we've almost doubled in 2 weeks Shock

Vaccinations are still low too. 58% first dose and 32% second dose. Wonder if that explains the number of cases.

We're now at n/a for immediate area and 32.1 for wider, essex/Suffolk border.

Vaccination rates here are above average.
Wider area is 84.2% one dose, 69.3% second. Immediate area numbers are, 88.5%/67.9

Definitely think that.high uptake has something to do with our lower numbers

Clickbait · 01/07/2021 13:48

160 per 100k

moonbedazzled · 01/07/2021 14:13

In the northwest.
In my area vaccination rates are 85% for both and 73% for one. Lower rates of my neighbouring area that uses the same hospital.

Case are are at 212, up from 147 last week.
In hospital, which covers a populstion of about 250,000, there are 10 people with covid, one up on last week, with 2 in icu. 7 of those have not had any vaccinations. 2 people with it jave died over past 2 weeks but its unclear

shewalkslikerihanna · 01/07/2021 15:11

No idea of cases but as a town of 93,000 people we had 160 deaths altogether
I used to keep An eye on the town obituaries and you struggled to find anyone over the age of 75 on there

Arsebucket · 01/07/2021 15:13

my postcode I can’t see because there have been 0-2 cases in the past seven days.

At the end of the street though, the area changes and it’s 121/100 Confused (That’s still very few people though).

Arsebucket · 01/07/2021 15:15

But the postcode at the other end of the street it’s 25/100.

varies so much in one small area.

JustMeAndWheatley · 01/07/2021 15:17

Rural Leicestershire

245/100,000

More cases than at any time before including first and second peak. Almost all in teenagers.

HoollyWugger · 01/07/2021 15:24

207 Shock

alloalloallo · 01/07/2021 15:25

18/100000 up 7 on last week, but it has been fluctuating between 12 and 19 per 100000 for the last few weeks

80% had 1st jab, 70% have had their 2nd

No Covid patients in hospital and no deaths for weeks

Fiddlersgreen · 01/07/2021 15:29

151 per 100,000. Richmond upon Thames

SchnitzelVonCrummsTum · 01/07/2021 15:32

I think I might "win" (not in a good way)

Durham city.

2114 per 100,000 - I believe we are some of the highest in the country?

School bubbles popping daily. Massive explosion of cases in university students (parties etc.) and trickle of it into the community.

Lots of double jabbed friends are ill. Not hospital-level ill, but really very unwell and in bed for a number of weeks.

It is a total shitshow and I am so very, very fed up. It has been a long time since I DIDN'T have a child isolating at home with me, often more than one.

MadisonAvenue · 01/07/2021 15:36

South Staffs/West Midland border
82/100000
1st vaccine 86%
2nd vaccine 68%

heloheyhi · 01/07/2021 15:38

1282 per 100k - one of the surge neighbourhoods in Edinburgh.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 01/07/2021 15:40

180 but its actually 10 people
It doesn't really work for areas with less than 100k people

BigWoollyJumpers · 01/07/2021 15:55

As pp's it doesn't really work if you are in low density MSOA. Ours went from 20 to 450 and back down to 50 on the rolling 7 day. All because somewhere, school perhaps had one day of 25 positives. Just the one day, but it of course took seven days to clear out. At the moment we are 55, but that's only 4 people in seven days..... I'm not going to worry about that!

At LA level we are 81. This has also been up and down, gradually moving up, but again very sensitive to daily swings. Some days only 3 or four cases, yesterday 47. Looking again at MSOA level, one ward has a large blip, again assume school, others around it all going down.

No hospitalisations or deaths though, for weeks and weeks, and weeks.

West Surrey.

Jocasta2018 · 01/07/2021 15:57

I'm in Surrey just outside the M25.
In my MSOA area we have 6 cases - gone up 3 since last week so rate has doubled.
This works out at 66.7 cases per 100,000 people.
In the town - a population of roughly 100,000 - there are 74 cases - up 10% from last week. This is according to the BBC website.

I'm hoping the numbers stay under control here but it's a matter of watching & waiting...

BigWoollyJumpers · 01/07/2021 16:05

I've just looked at the vaccination map, and interestingly home counties, including Surrey are pretty low. This surprises me. My local area really low, even more surprising considering everyone I know is double vaccinated, and our local area full of old and infirm.

elsaesmeralda · 01/07/2021 16:07

382 - apparently it's jumped up pretty fast

PinkPurpleParade · 01/07/2021 16:10

464 - Manchester. No surprise. Had to go to the Arndale (indoor shopping centre) recently and it was rammed and I'd say at least a third of people not wearing masks.

Regular anti-mask protests etc. Idiots.
