I dance at home if desperate. Do what you have to, to get by.

musicalfrog · 13/06/2021 09:18

I have been but it's not the same and after over a year it's kind of lost its appeal now.

I go to dance fitness classes. I get my fix twice a week. Is there anything like that near you?

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 09:43

Me too (but I’ve been dancing)😉💃

Neron · 13/06/2021 11:24

Me too! Being out out, good music, letting go and just having a good time

YogaLite · 13/06/2021 12:02

I used to early on but have now accepted I probably never go to a large party or even an indoor class again. To wear myself up a bit, I started doing long walks and loving it more as all outdoors.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 13/06/2021 12:03

Bought disco lights, danced every Friday night during this year's lockdown. Helped a bit!

FunnyInjury · 13/06/2021 12:30

Yes me too! I've been to a couple of garden gigs in the pub but I miss proper gigs, dancing and all that goes with it Sad

HelloMissus · 13/06/2021 12:31

God yes.
Can’t wait to go to a gig or a huge party or a festival.
Deep theatrical sigh

MrsBongiovi · 13/06/2021 13:07

I miss concerts. It’s probably the thing I miss most to be honest. certainly more than some family 😬🤣

whippitwoowoo · 13/06/2021 13:19

Yup, me too. The last time is danced was 2 years ago at a random foam party that popped up in Mexico.

TheVampiresWife · 13/06/2021 13:21

I can't wait to get all sweaty and squashed at the barrier of a gig again. Nothing beats live music and being front of stage, close enough to see the band's nose hairs. Good god I miss it Sad

😂

You might be onto something there. Could that be the new covid safe partying!

jarviscockatiel · 13/06/2021 17:06

Yep. Used to go to dance classes three times a week. We've done zoom Argentine tango classes but dancing on the carpet in the living room isn't the same. My ballroom teacher has been made redundant from the venue we danced at so won't be doing that for the foreseeable.
Can't see ceroc starting again soon. It's been 16 months since we've done it and it feels like a lifetime. It's very depressing.

newnortherner111 · 13/06/2021 17:09

I don't but know some people who are missing it. My mum was a pianist for many years for a dancing society and from what she told me, the fitness and social aspects were both valuable.

Poorlykitten · 13/06/2021 17:11

Kitchen disco at ours most Friday nights.

StevieNix · 13/06/2021 17:15

Yes! Its the one thing I really miss the most. I don’t really drink (maybe have one or two when I’m out) but I SO miss going to bars/clubs and just spending the whole night dancing. I dance around at home and do dance fitness but it just doesn’t compare for me- its a whole different experience

musicalfrog · 13/06/2021 21:13

Ahh some lovely messages here and evocative memories. I miss the euphoria of dancing in a hot dark room, with bright lights flashing and a deep beat coming off the floor and right through me. A room full of strangers! Not knowing what the next tune is. Just feeling the music. I couldn't possibly play music loud enough for me in my front room or I'd wake up the children!

I really miss gigs and dancing.

We were promised nightclubbing damnit! .

inmyslippers · 13/06/2021 23:11

I jump round my living room like a mad woman doing Zumba workouts at hone

TruelyonelastSchlep · 13/06/2021 23:12

It is a pandemic and lockdowns you have been stuck in. Not the film foot loose Grin

Ostara212 · 13/06/2021 23:36

I've only ever heard this in clubs

Nice video though, in an understated way

Zumba is not a substitute for my church!

TheVampiresWife · 13/06/2021 23:37

It's like a mashup of Footloose and 28 Days Later. Which would've sounded like a brilliant idea for a film before we'd all lived it for 15 months.
NiceGerbil · 13/06/2021 23:39

Fuck yeah.

Gigs, the occasional club, festivals, even pub nights that get raucous!

It's the freedom of dancing how you want, strangers so who cares, having a smile/ grin with someone else into it...

Nothing else is the same.

SlipperyLizard · 14/06/2021 10:55

I was saying the same recently, I didn’t do it often (lack of opportunity) but I really miss a good dance at a Xmas do, or wedding etc. Had one planned for early July but that now looks impossible 😥
