I am done! Depression panic attacks this is never going to end what is the point ?

OP posts:
Lumene · 03/06/2021 18:50

It will end, and things are moving in that direction, even if blips on the way.

Don't watch the news. Try and switch off, listen to podcasts about something you like, take up a hobby that will keep your mind and hands busy.
This isn't going to last forever Flowers

Coffeeandbananas · 03/06/2021 19:25

Feeling the same today. Sorry OP. 😥

AuntieMarys · 03/06/2021 19:27

Haven't seen the news.....something amiss?

SonnetForSpring · 03/06/2021 19:29

It will end. It's just going to take a while. It won't be like this forever though x

midgedude · 03/06/2021 19:33

It's like the wall in the marathon

So near the end now but it's a very long hard thing

IsabellesMissingSock · 03/06/2021 19:33

Today, I know how you feel Flowers

Yesyoucantell · 03/06/2021 19:34

I went out for dinner and cocktails with friends last night. Just back from a weekend in London, stayed overnight, used the tube and ate out every meal in crowded restaurants.

Unless you have health issues then there's no reason not to get out there and enjoy life.

I understand if anxiety is an issue so apologies if that's the case.

Have I missed something or are things the same as they were a few days ago??

Mrgrinch · 03/06/2021 19:37

I know how you feel OP. I have never been so miserable.

HairyFloppins · 03/06/2021 19:41

I’m with you OP. It just seems all so relentless. Try not to read the news much. But if you anything like me I read it anyway Flowers

bishbashbosh99 · 03/06/2021 19:47

Oh bless you, how come today everyone? I don't feel any different than I have since May 17th and feel it's still positive (not that that changes how you feel I'm just wondering what you know that I don't)?

If it's the holiday thing I see that as positive that they are trying to keep us on the right path to easing everything and if that means no holidays then that's them being cautious. but obvs that's just my opinion and I may be wrong. Hope you feel better soon

TokyoSushi · 03/06/2021 19:58

Agree that today is not a great day, (in summary basically can't hardly go anywhere abroad now, cases and hospitalisations are rising a little bit and it's possible the vaccine might not be as effective against the Indian/Delta variant)

But, as I've said before in previous threads it's a pandemic, it was never going to be quick, it was never going to be easy, it's just a bump in the road, we have to keep going and it WILL end, nothing is forever. Look how far we've come, we can do this!!

minkfondant · 03/06/2021 20:00

I understand OP Flowers Hang in there, all pandemics burn themselves out in the end (saying that as much for myself as you)

osbertthesyrianhamster · 03/06/2021 20:02

Turn off the news and start living your life.

NotBot · 03/06/2021 20:11

Stop reading & watching the news and get out there! Life feels almost normal now, particularly in this weather where you can have loadsa friends or family altogether outside! Or 6 indoors!

Other than wearing a mask & not going abroad .. life is there to enjoy 🥳

Apologies if you have health anxiety, I appreciate life must be much harder after being made to feel so afraid of covid.. or if you are indeed more vulnerable too it.

thenightsky · 03/06/2021 20:13

@osbertthesyrianhamster

Turn off the news and start living your life.
Yes, this. To quote my 84 year old mother in law... 'what's the point of the vaccine keeping me alive if I'm not actually living?'
Bagelsandbrie · 03/06/2021 20:16

I don’t understand...? Things are the best they’ve been for ages! You can do anything you like really. Schools open, cinemas, shops, etc etc. Days out! Eating out! Why so glum? The vaccines are working.

AuntieMarys · 03/06/2021 21:16

Having seen the headlines, I'm certainly not worried. We are out and about as normal ( apart from the bloody masks), having 4 breaks away over the next 4 weeks including London. Can't wait.

1dayatatime · 04/06/2021 01:16

I did know what you mean OP. It's the boiled frog approach that gets me down. If someone had said in March last year this will take two years then I would have been fine with it.
But it's this constant everything will be fine by date x then as we approach that date it's pushed back until date y and then the same again to date z. It's just mentally draining.

TeddingtonTrashbag · 04/06/2021 01:20

It's the boiled frog approach that gets me down
Completely agree - well put.

I am convinced it will take longer if we keep having lockdowns. They are just prolonging things. The Spanish Flu burned itself out with no lockdowns.
NightoftheLivingBread · 04/06/2021 01:39

“The Spanish Flu burned itself out with no lockdowns.”

But I suppose by ‘burned itself out’ you mean infected or killed all the susceptible people?

katy1213 · 04/06/2021 01:41

It is ending. I was in the West End tonight and it was buzzing, lots of families out and about as it's half-term. Everybody seemed in a good mood, lovely balmy night and at last there's somewhere to go for an evening out.

XenoBitch · 04/06/2021 01:48

It ended though. That was my point.
