I’m july 83, if they do the 38 on or before July 1st like the last few times i will be 16 days too Young 😭. I’ll keep trying though

Goatsdorhone · 12/05/2021 17:22

It's just let me in for DH (sept 82)
Options are all pharmacies unless travel to AFC Wimbledon/Guys or St Thomas' (we're in SE London)
I thought more likely that pharmacies would be offering AZ as easier to store than Pfizer?

Poppytime · 12/05/2021 17:24

Mine is booked at a conference centre type place rather than a pharmacy. Not sure what that means in terms of which I'll get!

I'm April 83 and managed to book earlier - I think they must just be adding details bit by bit by area or something.

For those asking, I got my confirmation text and email quite quickly after booking.

I'm going to Islington BDC for mine as I know for sure they are doing Moderna for the foreseeable future (as confirmed by the professor who runs the centre on Twitter).

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 12/05/2021 17:26

Well at least I'll have something to keep me occupied if Dc5(3) keeps me up until the early hours again (really suffering with his hay fever).

Poppytime · 12/05/2021 17:26

Nordica - snap that's where I'm going. Good info, thanks!

nordica · 12/05/2021 17:28

I feel a bit like I'm stalking the professor in fact as have been following him on Twitter for a while in hopes of going to get my Moderna at BDC Grin @ProfEdWild if anyone else wants to Twitter stalk...

Poppytime · 12/05/2021 17:29

Well your stalking has paid off Grin

Totallyaddictedtoshoes · 12/05/2021 17:33

Just booked, I'm a few months off 39. No idea what I will get, there is no info on which centre is doing which around here. I'd also be interested to know what happens if I get there tomorrow and they have az, will they refuse to jab me? I think they should have made sure they could sort out how to handle offering an alternative to az first really, whether that is confirming which sites have which vaccine, or only offering sites with an alternative to az to those under 40 now, but something tells me they haven't!

Shergill15 · 12/05/2021 17:34

39 (40 in August) and nothing yet - Cheshire area. Hoping I can book via the website tomorrow - I'm civilian staff in a prison so lots of contact with different people etc

Munchathon · 12/05/2021 17:38

Is there lots of availability at the BDC? I don’t want to cancel mine and then miss my slot

DixonD · 12/05/2021 17:44

I can book on the site but it still says over 40, so I might wait until tomorrow to book mine, as it might have more info on there then. Here’s hoping anyway!

Poppytime · 12/05/2021 17:44

Seems to be at BDC yes - just booked the same slot as me for DH for first dose - which is handy!

LittleRen · 12/05/2021 17:45

I think the website will change tomorrow to offer a choice, they were supposed to be implementing changes and they haven’t gone live yet. Maybe people are booking too soon.

Poppytime · 12/05/2021 17:45

Surely if they are letting 1982 etc book it likely won't be AZ? Even if still says 40 on the site....

Runwayqueen · 12/05/2021 17:49

June 83, Exeter, just booked both appointments

User13243543 · 12/05/2021 17:52

February 83, Surrey, no joy here yet.

littlepeas · 12/05/2021 17:53

@BernardsarenotalwaysSaints

Just tried for DH (Nov 82) & I couldn't. Will keep trying though. South Warks here.
Me too and I was able to book. Was offered the Ramada on the Kenilworth road, but not Stoneleigh, which is where my dh went.
LittleRen · 12/05/2021 17:54

I just think they have released slots before the website change as they normally release slots early. The website was being changed to give under 40 and pregnant women a choice - if people aren’t even seeing the choice then that change hasn’t yet been made, the website looks the same to me but granted I am not at the booking point. I might be wrong.

Sunny360 · 12/05/2021 17:56

I’ve got my first booked for Friday and my second 30th July. I don't think they will be offering az to under 40’s. I think they just have to allow access to the site gradually for some reason (probably something technical) as that’s how all the other age groups have been added as well. They just say 7am tomorrow because that’s when they know everyone age 38-39 will have definitely been added by.

Poppytime · 12/05/2021 17:56

I think guidance is guidance though isn't it, if you are under 40 you should be offered an alternative irrespective of how booked. It's not like because you can book today renders you 40+. Well let's see anyway!

Sunny360 · 12/05/2021 17:57

Be interesting to find out when people go anyway. We can all report back here.

littlepeas · 12/05/2021 18:04

I just don’t want to waste an appointment/vaccine as I’m not prepared to accept AZ. I think it is accounting for it now, as I’ve only been given a few choices and some are far away!
Poppytime · 12/05/2021 18:09

Yes I get it littlepeas, I feel similar and I've probably been a bit quick to book because I'm keen to ensure we get our second vaccines by a certain date

Porridgeislife · 12/05/2021 18:17

I’ve booked in for the 23rd, exciting times.

I’m 39 and despite living in inner north London was offered only Islington BDC, Guys or Wimbledon (eg no Francis Crick which is closest) so they must be restricting the centres for U/40 to those doing Moderna/Pfizer.
