Could all AZ posts keep to 1 thread.

Literally the board is being flooded with the same Qs. If it was in one thread people could find answers. Then we could also see the Corona threads that have nothing to do with AZ , just my thoughts.

OP posts:

Seconded...

Silversun83 · 07/05/2021 20:25

But which one?? Grin

picturesandpickles · 07/05/2021 20:33

When something is a very topical subject this always happens, so I think you are on a hiding to nnothing.

Also people want to ask about their own circs, so they start their own thread.

I think that is the nature of forums and I think people are entitled to do what they want really, even if I personally don;t enjoy the threads.

TruelyWonder · 07/05/2021 22:10

People are worried and do have their own questions. However I do agree to some extent with OP. If people bundled to one or two themed threads then they would probably get their questions answered better. Plus have like minded people that are worried to talk too.

Being a open forum thothat is never going to happen

Plus what is the coronvirus board without drama

Torvean · 08/05/2021 20:00

I agree with your points. I think the more individual posts affect those already anxious. We just seemed to be flooded with practically the same posts about AZ/,Oxford.

OP posts:
TruelyWonder · 08/05/2021 20:16

If people listen to all the rubbish advice given heaven help us. We will be in this mess longer and some posters will remain unvaccinated. Some of had their first jab risking infectioning some else more vulnerable.

The board at the moment is like a psychology lesson in how to wind people up and making them more anxious. People don't understand the yellow card reporting system either. So get more wprried by it. Which doesn't help.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 08/05/2021 20:43

I’ve hidden a lot of the AZ threads as I was getting more and more stressed by them. I’ve have my first AZ vaccine (and I’m pleased I have) but the constant posts about it made me worry every time I get a headache.

Roonerspismed · 08/05/2021 20:44

Just don’t read them? It’s a big deal for middle aged women

FrozenVag · 08/05/2021 20:47

Are you forgetting that some people can barely access medical help through their GP service?

If you don’t like it, just scroll by....Hmm

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 08/05/2021 20:48

That’s why I’ve hidden them! I’m a middle aged woman who is happy to have had AZ and will getting the second one but the constant multiple posts about it were getting to me.

TruelyWonder · 08/05/2021 20:54

That is the point most of us are having to hide the threads because there are so many.

46 here by the way. Happily getting AZ on Wednesday. I have not been well enough up until now. Can't have Pfizer because I may have a reaction.

My husband just had his second AZ not even a needle mark after it. If we had high cases then the jab would still be available to everyone. Some of the advice people are giving is so inaccurate. It makes people worry more.

TruelyWonder · 08/05/2021 20:58

The point is to add to a existing thread. They would actually get better more regulated advice that way too. We have some posters on this board that are NHS or just plain marvellous with the facts. However they tend to stick to one or two threads at a time.
Schmetterling1 · 08/05/2021 20:59

Love that you started another thread about AZ to say this. Grin

Also, no to the thread policing thanks.

picturesandpickles · 08/05/2021 21:00

I also really dislike the thread policing, none of us own this forum, each user is entitled to start the threads they want to, MNHQ will delete if inappropriate.

TruelyWonder · 08/05/2021 21:09

It isn't policing. It is starting a thread to have a good old moan. Which is the fundamental right of a mumsnet.

The OP is only wrong to do this if there are multiple threads doing it or if the OP is slagging off an individual thread.

My telling the OP their thread is wrong. You are providing your own point wrong. The bit were you say anyone is free to start a thread.

TruelyWonder · 08/05/2021 21:09

TruelyWonder · 08/05/2021 21:11

Sorry I am terrible at proof reading. So may posts will all be useless SPAG nightmares Grin

My thread doesn't talk about AZ. It'd about incessant posts about AZ. When there's other threads on it why not add to it? I'm in a certain vaccines thread we've kept it to 1 thread which has nearly 800 posts. We share advice, post concerns and help each other.
OP posts:
Wherediditgo · 09/05/2021 07:09

It really really irks me when people behave like the self appointed forum police.
It’s an open, public forum. You don’t own it. Therefore you cannot dish out instructions on how and when to use it. Only MNHQ can do that.

SaskiaRembrandt · 09/05/2021 07:24

It's not just threads about AZ, there are also all the threads about which vaccine is available where. I'd like to see a separate topic for vaccine related threads.

Schmetterling1 · 09/05/2021 09:54

Because people want to start their own threads.

That’s the way you choose to use the forum.

Stop policing.

0gfhty · 09/05/2021 23:16

It's the zeitgeist!

TruelyWonder · 09/05/2021 23:19

Zeitgeist is defined as the spirit of a generation or a period of time.

Heaven help us them🤦‍♀️

Torvean · 10/05/2021 01:34

Firstly it was a suggestion. Secondly other ppl have said all the AZ threads have caused extra anxiety as they've had the vaccine.

I'm didn't tell anyone to do something, you directly did. So maybe you should stop policing @Schmetterling1

OP posts:
User6587324 · 10/05/2021 06:18

A separate topic for vaccine would be a good idea then those that are interested in other aspects of CV could avoid them altogether.
