As of Friday 30th April

34.3m first jabs
14.9m second jabs

have been given in the UK. This means that 65% of all adults have some level of protection and 28% are fully vaccinated.

Additionally evidence is currently suggesting that the vaccines are effective against the Brazilian and Indian variants 🥳

Placing bets...

Which will complete another row of squares first - 1st doses or 2nd doses? I predict we’ll get to 80% and 60% at the same time! Grin

EasterIssland · 05/06/2021 23:31

When. Teenagers are added in a few months what will happen with the blocks.!! As the population will be bigger ... so will we go down in blocks? Or should teenagers have their own blocks Wink

Dementedswan · 05/06/2021 23:34

Amazing 👏🥳

DdraigGoch · 05/06/2021 23:39

40% completed vaccinations too!

DdraigGoch · 05/06/2021 23:41

Will we hit 100 doses per capita tomorrow, or will we have to wait another day?

InMySpareTime · 06/06/2021 05:30

Travelling Tabby site says we already have:

Sorry, that should read 1 dose per capita. Doh!

InMySpareTime · 06/06/2021 11:14

😂now that would be a logistical nightmare!
Two jabs each is hard enough to organise...

NightmareLoon · 06/06/2021 12:38

Today might be a bumper day, my first was on the "biggest ever" day (March 20), and my 2nd yesterday. (11weeks)

Bordois · 06/06/2021 14:44

590,645 vaccinations in England yesterday

175,001 1st doses
415,644 2nd doses

Other nations reporting later or tomorrow

A respectable increase week-on-week. Hopefully we'll start to pick up now after the bank holiday

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 06/06/2021 18:18

In Stanmore, Greater London, Belmont Health Centre saw long queues over the weekend after opening for walk-in appointments to over-18s who live or work in Harrow and have yet to have their first jabs.

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 06/06/2021 18:21

In Troon, South Ayrshire young people over 18 queued for up to three hours to use the town's drop-in vaccination centre at Walker Hall.

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 06/06/2021 18:22

University College London yesterday students lined up for on mass until supplies ran out at a clinic held by NHS Camden.

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 06/06/2021 18:23

Glad to see how eager the young people are ❤

I love this thread. So nice to have a “good news” corner Smile

I’ve been looking at the map here www.theguardian.com/world/2021/may/28/covid-uk-coronavirus-cases-deaths-and-vaccinations-today , specifically the vaccinations. There seems to be quite a lot of variability accross different areas. Can someone explain why? I understand some areas might have more vaccine hesitancy, but is there more? Eg, are the big cities slower because they have a denser population, or a younger population?

I am curious because I am in a lighter green on that map (a city in the North) and I wonder if we’re a few weeks behind the country average or if we should expect to reach an overall lower number...

Thanks!!

Dementedswan · 06/06/2021 21:58

I'm in North east, stats say 80.7 first doses done and 63.2 second doses. Liking on covid map for schools.. last week were had less than 9/100,000 this week 23/100,000 .

EasterIssland · 06/06/2021 22:05

Been off the thread few days so not sure I’ve missed the 1m announcement?

I’ve today moved dh second dose. From the 9th of July to the 21st of June. Much closer to home as well.

DdraigGoch · 06/06/2021 22:27

Now that the other nations have reported their figures, we have indeed breached 1 dose per capita.
