As of Friday 30th April

34.3m first jabs
14.9m second jabs

have been given in the UK. This means that 65% of all adults have some level of protection and 28% are fully vaccinated.

Additionally evidence is currently suggesting that the vaccines are effective against the Brazilian and Indian variants 🥳

Thanks @Bordois I thought about doing the same. So 5m 1st and less than 12m second. Nearly 17m doses in 31 days. Avg of 550k/day. Quite good!

buttery81 · 01/06/2021 20:19

Thanks for that @Bordois - great numbers!

buttery81 · 02/06/2021 07:09

The vaccine minister said in an interview today that second doses for over 50s will be done by 21st June.

Good news indeed!

Mumoftwoinprimary · 02/06/2021 08:05

We are almost certainly going to hit 75% of adults having a first dose today.

PuzzledObserver · 02/06/2021 11:30

@Mumoftwoinprimary

We are almost certainly going to hit 75% of adults having a first dose today.
That's good news.... and based on this experiment in Brazil, once we reach 75% of second doses, we should have whipped Covid's butt...

And same again for 2nd doses. Looking good again, regardless of what some might say.

BBC saying we have hit 75% of adults having 1st dose and we are near 50% for 2 doses. Yay!
👏👏👏👏👏

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 02/06/2021 19:11

Wonderful numbers and percentages everyone ❤

I am really happy that the take up amongst the people likely to have teenage kids is looking good already. That should help stop greatly I feel.

Bordois · 02/06/2021 19:24

Yep, getting vaccinations into the arms of those likely to have school aged kids will make a big difference imo.

OP posts:
EasterIssland · 02/06/2021 19:27

Is there any news about teenagers being vaccinated? I wasn’t sure whether it had been approved

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 02/06/2021 19:47

A lot of one day walk in centres for over 18s. In England seems to be happening. Which will obviously help some of the youth transmission.

Jabs for teenagers is still up in the air I think. It really sounds like Boris and co are hoping not to need them. In the meantime the regulators are making a selection of plans for the government/SAGE to decide upon. For this the regulators won't have the final say unlike they did with the priority list.

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 02/06/2021 19:48

Sorry.I forgot to answer the actual question Grin

No jabs are not approved for kids here yet.

Dementedswan · 03/06/2021 15:58

Whats todays numbers?

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 03/06/2021 17:55

I don't think anyone has published the numbers yet 🤷‍♀️

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 03/06/2021 17:56

More than half of UK adults have now had both doses of a coronavirus vaccine. Vaccines minister and Warwickshire MP
@nadhimzahawi's called it heart-warming news, and said those who've had both jabs can breathe a sigh of relief.

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 03/06/2021 17:57

Latest hospital figures. Only 3.7% of patients in hospital with covid have had both doses❤

Mumoftwoinprimary · 03/06/2021 19:03

Figures are up. 50.2% of adults have had 2 doses of the vaccine.

In less good news - over 5000 cases.

Dementedswan · 03/06/2021 22:33

My 23 year old neighbour has her first vaccine of Pfizer yesterday through our gp hub. They are flying through them 🥳

Dementedswan · 03/06/2021 22:35

They are also saying anyone post 8 weeks of first vaccination and have not been called to ring and they will be booked in for saturday x
