Are they still doing the moderna jab there? Booked in for Thursday.

They were on Monday

Ooh, I can go to this site for mine. Haven’t booked yet as so anxious about AZ. Are they definitely only offering Moderna?

@ApplyWithin and @OneSecond will update after I go Thursday. Also anxious about AZ so fingers crossed it’s still Moderna.

My Dr has recommended I go there too. It’s a longish journey so want to make sure they are doing Moderna. Do you know if there is a number I can call to find out or is it pot luck?

I live fairly near it so quite a few people have been since it opened up and SO FAR everyone has had moderna but that may change

Why are you all anxious about AZ? You do know you're much more likely to die driving there than from a blood clot?

Agreed on the anxiety - there's actually not that much to choose between the vaccines in terms of side effects - it's just that AZ has had more adverse publicity which has vastly overblown the risks.

But personally I think the mRNA vaccines are far superior - their efficacies against the SA strain for example are way ahead of the rest. That's not to say that the AZ won't give most people excellent protection against serious illness, but if the SA strain becomes dominant here, those who've had the non mRNA jabs will probably need a booster to reduce their ability to transmit the virus to others.
