Jul 79 not eligible ☹️

girlofnow · 28/04/2021 23:19

It would be going horribly wrong when 1980s must surely be next. I'm going to stop checking as it's driving me up the wall! I wouldn't mind so much but I'm literally the oldest person I know that hasn't had it. Friends in their 30s have had it in London yonks ago. I don't understand the logistics, surely they should divert some from the areas that are miles ahead to the areas that aren't. But never mind.

Pleased to hear dh is booked in and I expect he will get az. I don’t know anyone in real life who’s had it and NOT been ill! He’s quite worried[/quote]
I had it and wasnt unwell after my first, had 3 migraines after my 2nd one but no problems at all after first one

Torvean · 29/04/2021 03:09

First check of the day done ! Just read the thread about wales doing 18 yos now. Come onnnnnn

Scissorsforthedrifter · 29/04/2021 06:46

It's a no for me.

Autumn101 · 29/04/2021 06:53

Just checked and still a no

TokyoSushi · 29/04/2021 07:15

Good morning! No. 🙄

Deliaskis · 29/04/2021 07:18

Finally this morning got an appointment closer to me. Had been nothing nearer than an hour away but now have one at Alderley Park which is about 15 mins. Second appointment in Manchester where there's also been nothing all week. So those struggling on locations sit tight.... they do change.

MRex · 29/04/2021 07:24

I was excited to see a new screen with a green button. Then I realised it said it didn't know me and wanted me to check the details. It didn't know my name with DH's date of birth. Well, no, it wouldn't. Oh well, variety is nice!

43, booked appointment on Monday and had jab yesterday. At the vaccination centre they said they had only managed to open up for two afternoons and were just using up supply from their fridge. They didn't know when new supply was coming. For the record I feel like I have a big hangover, with a few other bits thrown in. Hopefully it will pass quickly. Still trying for dh who is younger.

Dailywalk · 29/04/2021 09:12

Had a friend kindly point out I didn’t need to wait for GP to ring to book an appointment Hmm
I am clearly being irrational as how would she know I check the site 15+ times a day. I am clearly getting too worked up about this and needed to vent to my fellow 40 somethings still (im)patiently waiting for our turn.

WhiteChocTwix · 29/04/2021 09:44

BBC News says The vaccination programme is being extended to all 42-year-olds in England. I hope some more of you are successful in getting appointments today.

Frazzled2207 · 29/04/2021 09:47

@WhiteChocTwix
this happened on tuesday.

Greater Manchester folk - a small number of options seem to have come up for bank holiday monday.

NutellaEllaElla · 29/04/2021 09:52

40 and still waiting, West mids

InMySpareTime · 29/04/2021 09:56

Any Greater Manchester folk around today, I saw this on FB this morning:
"💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉
Thursday 29 April

I'm currently volunteering at a vaccination clinic in Eccles Leisure Centre and they are doing walk-ins for the AstraZeneca jab. All over 42s eligible for 1st vaccination or 2nd vaccination for anyone who had their 1st BEFORE 6 March. The place is empty. In the immortal words of Leslie Crowther ... Come on down
💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉"

Sorry, my bad! Of course it did. 🤦‍♀️The waiting is getting to me Grin

Frazzled2207 · 29/04/2021 10:17

@InMySpareTime

that's great news. My dh can't get to Eccles today but hopefully the message gets through and they have a reasonable but not ridiculous queue soon.

TokyoSushi · 29/04/2021 10:26

2nd try of the day, no!

1980, I don't even know why I'm trying, what have I become?!?!

MRex · 29/04/2021 10:27

@InMySpareTime - aaaargh, why are they empty if nobody in Manchester could book all week? Why not open up at least for over 40s if they're empty?

OP posts:
NutellaEllaElla · 29/04/2021 10:30

It is frustrating. My GP have an automated recording you have to listen to before you can speak to a human, saying DON'T call them about booking a vaccine appointment. I can't see another way for keen beans to book and if there are empty vaccination centres then it's frustrating.

IceandIndigo · 29/04/2021 10:40

It's so frustrating. My local council has started running drop-in vaccination clinics on Wednesdays. Officially it's only open to people who are in the current NHS booking categories, but unofficially anyone who turns up and stands in the queue will be vaccinated. I know a lot of people in their 30s who have had their jabs this way, but I've never been able to go as I'm always busy on Wednesdays and the queue can take hours. If they have available vaccines I don't understand why they're not offering appointments to people in their early 40s rather than giving them to random people with time on their hands.

Jujean · 29/04/2021 10:49

43 and just had my first jab (Moderna) at Guy’s hospital. Thanks to the mumsnet posters who shared that Guys was offering Moderna in centre 1, was able to book accordingly on the NHS site. Centre 2 is AZ.

Scissorsforthedrifter · 29/04/2021 11:14

Still no.

Mufflete · 29/04/2021 11:18

After nothing in Suffolk for the last few days some appointments 15 minutes ago just popped up for next week! Dedicated refreshing the web page pays off eventually Grin
