Silly vaccine side effect

Reasurrance from others who had this please.

At the jab site it was first a sore raised red circle that felt semi-hard. Now it's maybe 1-1.5 inches in a more random shape (I was descibing it like the continent of Africa) and feels warm and sore to touch.

I'm only worried as I once had cellulitis that required antibiotics and this has scared me as they admitted me in hospital for what was a tiny infection! I'm also on a low dose immuno suppressant, not sure what effect this would have.

Had it Sunday, maybe I should keep an eye and see how it is next week?

She also really stabbed me lol whereas the first one I hardly felt.

Length is 2 inches I'd say including the horn of Africa lol.

I had something similar with my second dose (Although I'm in a trial so I don't know if it was the real thing or not)
Very odd but that was December and I'm fine :)

DH said his arm was just a bit sore/achy the first 24 hours, but about three days later he was concerned there was an area with was raised and hard. It went down a couple of days later. Always, good to be aware OP if you have other health concerns, but hopefully it's just a reaction to the injection.

Keep an eye on it and check it isn't increasing in size. As you say, cellulitis isn't pleasant and needs antibiotics, so you don't want to delay that if the area is spreading.

Thank you, that is pretty reassuring.

It's now a rectangle shape so I guess a little larger, but will keep an eye. For some reason its helpful noting the shape of it haha. Had vit C, D and loads of fresh air walking today. I'm sure it'll be gone and I'll forget all about it but if it does continue and need ABs I'll update.

Get a sharpie and draw round it.

Not only will you have a pleasing reminder of its current shape, you'll be sure whether the redness is increasing or not

I had a hot, red patch, swelling and very painful for a week! It was still tender up to 2 weeks after the vaccination.
There were a few people posting photos etc - I'll see if I can find it!
